Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ricky Rawse! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Crazy Lobo! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Tiny Johnson and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lobo uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Rawse. Rawse looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Rawse is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Lobo.
It looks like Ricky Rawse has been cut. Lobo slips a straight right by Rawse. A telegraphed right hand from Lobo misses the target. Crazy Lobo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Lobo staying out of range there. Lobo throws out a counter right but Rawse avoids it with no problem. Rawse scores with a punch to the head. Lobo moves away from the strike by Rawse. Rawse lands with a cross. The fighters circling - Rawse throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Lobo tries to bum rush Rawse with a series of wild strikes but Rawse uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Lobo jabbing away but nothing is landing. Rawse sizes up Lobo with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Rawse takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
A big left from Rawse misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rawse feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Lobo sprawling to the canvas! Lobo rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Rawse finish him?!
Lobo is rocked!
It looks like Crazy Lobo has been cut. Rawse throws an uppercut from hell that sends Lobo clean off his feet! He's out cold! Rawse stands back and admires his work as he thinks about that KO of the night award that is surely being wrapped up for him back stage.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:14 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Ricky Rawse! An out of breath Ricky Rawse thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
