Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Manuel Trujillo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Christopher Maine (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Manuel Trujillo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Christopher Maine! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Tiny Johnson and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Trujillo looks for a takedown but Maine sprawls well. Trujillo tries to clinch there but Maine circles away.
Trujillo rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Maine moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Trujillo wants to clinch. Trujillo misses with the combination.

A head kick misses from Maine. Trujillo throws a head kick that misses and Maine counters by moving into the clinch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Trujillo has had enough of the clinch but Maine keeps him there for the moment. Trujillo is trying to maintain a safe position but Maine gets an underhook and turns Trujillo into the ropes. Trujillo swings wildly with an uppercut but Maine uses good head movement to avoid it. Trujillo wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Maine has him pressed against the ropes. The fighters are pressed against the ropes, as the pace of the fight slows. Trujillo swings away with an uppercut that misses.

Maine continues to stall. The referee tells him to work or he's going to break them up. Trujillo misses with the head strike.
Maine is working on a single leg takedown against the ropes. Trujillo can't fight it off and eventually Maine manages to take the fight to the floor. Trujillo looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. Trujillo being controlled here, momentarily. Maine's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Maine pushing down on Trujillo's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Maine takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Trujillo is trying to get back to full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Christopher Maine dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Trujillo wants to clinch but Maine slips to the side and Maine counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Maine. Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Maine. A battle for position here, against the ropes. Maine blocks the elbow strike.

Trujillo has had enough of the clinch but Maine keeps him there for the moment. Maine lands a glancing elbow in the clinch. Maine effectively controlling the action here. Trujillo wants to get back to striking at distance but Maine won't allow it.

Maine's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. Maine receives a warning from the referee for stalling. The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Christopher Maine. Trujillo sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs. Trujillo throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Maine makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Trujillo really felt that one! Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Trujillo gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Trujillo can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Maine controls the pace.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Let's hope that Maine has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Christopher Maine. Maine fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Trujillo. Maine throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Maine tries a head kick but it misses.

Trujillo looks to clinch and Maine makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. Manuel Trujillo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Maine lands a high kick!

and Maine counters with a shoot takedown. Trujillo fights it but they end up in guard. Maine is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Maine prevents Trujillo from getting back to his feet. Maine slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Maine forces his way into half guard. Maine content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Christopher Maine dominated that fourth round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

and Maine counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Trujillo is lucky that one didn't land flush. Trujillo throws a right and a left that both miss. A head kick from Maine lands but Trujillo takes it in his stride. Trujillo wants to clinch and Maine counters with a shoot takedown. Trujillo fights it but they end up in guard. Maine works a leg free and moves into half guard. Maine keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Despite being in the dominant position, Christopher Maine just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Maine lands a nice looking kick to the body. Trujillo takes a step back to recover. Christopher Maine seems to be getting the better of the standup. Both of our modern day gladiators look out of it here - an gruelling 5 rounds of action taking it's toll on them, no doubt. Maine lands a front kick. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Maine connects with a high kick.

He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Maine is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Maine passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Trujillo!
And that's the end of the fight! Christopher Maine comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Maine has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
