Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Baeddan MacAuliffe (ranked 1634 p4p, 192 weight class) and Gregory McVaughn (ranked 2447 p4p, 268 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think MacAuliffe might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Notorious by Duran Duran. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Baeddan MacAuliffe!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 9 - 2, fighting out of New York, Gregory McVaughn!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Alec Ball and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McVaughn misses with a few strikes there.
MacAuliffe tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but McVaughn was well out of range. Poor timing from MacAuliffe.
MacAuliffe dives in for a single leg takedown but McVaughn sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
MacAuliffe needs to keep his hands up - McVaughn had a free shot at his head there.
We've been informed that McVaughn has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
A decent looking cross lands there for McVaughn.
MacAuliffe misses with a double jab.
MacAuliffe swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
MacAuliffe fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
McVaughn missing with a left hand there. MacAuliffe was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

McVaughn has taken the fight to the clinch.
McVaughn tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
McVaughn is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body.
McVaughn throws a punch but it's blocked by MacAuliffe.
MacAuliffe is trying to pull guard but McVaughn turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
This has been an exciting period of action!

McVaughn swings wildly with an uppercut but MacAuliffe uses good head movement to avoid it.
McVaughn scores with a nice hook to the head.
MacAuliffe blocks an uppercut.
McVaughn fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
McVaughn misses with a body punch.

MacAuliffe pulls McVaughn into guard.
McVaughn wants to get up but he can't break MacAuliffe's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
McVaughn tries to free his leg and advance position but MacAuliffe is retaining full guard.

McVaughn wanted to stand there but MacAuliffe had control of the position.

McVaughn got a little sloppy there for a moment and MacAuliffe has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, McVaughn has managed to get both his arms back between MacAuliffe's legs - danger averted.
MacAuliffe is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

MacAuliffe pushes a forearm under McVaughn's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, McVaughn is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
