Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Matti Meikalainen (ranked 3141 p4p, 307 weight class) and Samson Fortier (ranked 7478 p4p, 501 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Hirohito Nitta and Shigeki Fujiwara.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Meikalainen connects with a right hand. Fortier shakes it off.
Fortier tries to score with a low kick but Meikalainen moves his leg out of the way.
Meikalainen takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
A little feinted left hand from Meikalainen on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Meikalainen moves out of range as Fortier throws a body kick.
Fortier swings for the body but Meikalainen moves out of range.
Meikalainen takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Meikalainen takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Meikalainen lands with a nice body punch.
Fortier scores with a push kick.
Meikalainen avoids a kick to the body.
The crowd cheers as Fortier lands an impressive looking overhand right. Meikalainen doesn't seem phased though.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Fortier plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
It looks like Matti Meikalainen has been cut.
Fortier uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Fortier bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Meikalainen's head.
Meikalainen on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Fortier throws out a counter right but Meikalainen avoids it with no problem.

Meikalainen takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Fortier lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Meikalainen shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Fortier throws a body kick that misses.

and Meikalainen counters by clinching up.
Meikalainen blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Meikalainen stalling against the cage.
Fortier escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Meikalainen fails with an attempt to clinch.
Fortier lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Fortier drops Meikalainen with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Meikalainen looks back up at him and smiles so Fortier waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Meikalainen is rocked!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Meikalainen tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Fortier counters with a good low kick that Meikalainen was not able to check.
Oh Meikalainen is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Fortier measures up his opponent and throws a superman punch that connects to the jaw! Down goes Meikalainen! The ref steps in, and that's the ball game folks!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:07 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Superman Punch). Samson Fortier!
Samson Fortier decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
