Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Umberto Grena (ranked 7972 p4p, 570 weight class) and Yuran Franco (ranked 4787 p4p, 452 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Franco swinging wildly here.
A counter left hand to the body from Grena misses its target.
Franco has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Grena wants to clinch
and Franco counters with a stiff right hand.
Grena is looking to clinch but Franco is avoiding it.
Franco just misses with a punch to the body.

Franco pushes Grena up against the cage in a clinch.

Grena manages to break the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Franco clinches with his opponent.
Franco has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Grena is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Franco decides to pull guard.
Grena working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Grena wants to control from the top but Franco keeps moving.
Franco throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Franco holds on and takes a little breather.

Franco looking for a guillotine here but Grena defends easily.
Grena chips away with some ground and pound.
Grena throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

Franco throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Franco is trying to control the position but Grena postures up.

Franco feints and as Grena raises his hands in defense, Franco changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Franco is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Franco chips away with some ground and pound.

Franco is looking to work some ground and pound but Grena has wrist control.
Franco has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Franco gets to his feet - Grena follows without any prompting.

Oh but Franco is tightening it up a little... Grena has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Grena reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Grena taps out! Nice BJJ there by Franco!
