PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Master Splinter (ranked 2053 p4p, 240 weight class) and Griffith Femto (ranked 2709 p4p, 301 weight class). Splinter comes to the cage accompanied by Snäfä - Kaikest Huolimatta pt2 feat. Mc Rambo & Iivo. Femto has chosen Berserk OST - Hundred Year War as his entrance music. Griffith Femto has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed right hand from Femto misses the target.

Splinter rushes Femto and presses him up against the cage.
Splinter definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Femto misses with a hook from the clinch.

Splinter breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

It looks like Master Splinter has been cut.

Splinter shoots in but Femto avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Femto throws a shot from downtown. Splinter moves away and avoids it.

Femto throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Femto fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Splinter manages to avoid it.
Splinter drops down looking for a counter takedown but Femto sprawls and moves away.

and Splinter counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Femto has his foot on Splinter's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Splinter works his way back into a safe position though.

Splinter is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Femto sees it coming and defends easily.
Splinter is looking to take a break and control but Femto is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Femto is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Splinter's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Splinter's back!

Splinter seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Femto does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Splinter is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Femto is just riding it out for now. Splinter eventually gives up the hold.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Femto tries to roll over but Splinter keeps him under control.

Femto isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Splinter stacks Femto on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Splinter!

Splinter went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Splinter throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Femto's waist but Femto gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Splinter off to one side.
Splinter closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Femto is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Splinter is one step ahead and moves to full mount!

Splinter has hold of Femto's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Femto manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
