3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, William Thompson ! The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Frank Dennis and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Thompson misses with a hook. Harrington ducked under it nicely. Thompson shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Thompson prevents Harrington from standing back up.
Thompson is thwarting Harrington's attempts to control the position. Harrington tries to kick Thompson off but Thompson keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Harrington won't allow Thompson to pass to mount. Thompson is controlling the pace.
Harrington wants to get back to full guard.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Harrington wants to clinch but Thompson slips to the side and Thompson counters with a single leg into guard. Harrington didn't expect that. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Thompson lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Harrington looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Thompson 's corner is telling him to maintain position. Harrington wants to control but Thompson passes easily into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Thompson not landing any meaningful shots this time. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Thompson in particular looking to stall. Thompson lands strikes from half guard. Thompson keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Thompson is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Thompson is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Harrington taking some punishment here, with Thompson in his half guard. Thompson seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Thompson wants to work for an arm triangle but Harrington is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Harrington is trying to stand up here but Thompson is controlling him well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Thompson thows a huge punch but Harrington dodges it nicely.
Harrington tries to roll over but Thompson keeps him under control. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Thompson controlling the action here.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Thompson feints and as Harrington raises his hands in defense, Thompson changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Harrington uses the cage to get back to his feet.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Harrington throws a combination that misses and Thompson counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Thompson closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Harrington did well to prevent Thompson getting side control. Thompson content to control rather than advance. Harrington wants to control but Thompson is keeping busy and won't allow it. Thompson sitting and controlling from the half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Thompson seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Thompson has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Thompson not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. William Thompson has got the better of the ground game so far. Harrington is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Thompson is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Thompson 's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Thompson is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Thompson is continuing to stall. Harrington really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Thompson thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. Harrington sitting in guard, not really doing much. Harrington has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Harrington trying to control the position from guard on top but Thompson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Thompson escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Harrington gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Thompson is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Harrington is controlling him. Thompson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Thompson keeping moving, preventing Harrington from controlling successfully.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Thompson avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Thompson drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Harrington bucks up and tries to throw Thompson off but instead Thompson has got his back! Thompson lands punches and elbows. Harrington wants to get back to his feet. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Thompson is cranking Harrington's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for Harrington! He's tightened the choke and Harrington is tapping out!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). William Thompson ! William Thompson opened up his post fight interview with a scream to camera that he wants a title shot! Whether he deserves the shot will be up to the management of the organization, so I guess he'll have to wait and see.
