Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Gilberto Zimmerman! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Justin Falkiner! The judges for this bout are James Glass, Daniel Bishop and Richard Clark.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Zimmerman tries to clinch but Falkiner moves out of range. Zimmerman on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Falkiner shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Zimmerman napping and manages to drive through into side control! Falkiner throwing strikes but missing, from side control. Zimmerman sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Zimmerman is looking to escape. Zimmerman looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Zimmerman tries to get to full guard but Falkiner has control of the leg. Falkiner is pressing down on Zimmerman's thigh, looking to free his foot. Zimmerman is holding on for now. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Falkiner is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Zimmerman has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Falkiner is on him like a limpet, forcing Zimmerman back against the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Falkiner wants the takedown. Zimmerman is fighting it off but Falkiner persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Zimmerman's guard against the cage. Zimmerman is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Falkiner presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat. Zimmerman really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Falkiner escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Zimmerman tries to land a leg kick but Falkiner saw it coming and moves away.
Falkiner is looking to clinch but Zimmerman is avoiding it.
Zimmerman throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. Falkiner fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Zimmerman, pushing him back against the cage. Zimmerman wants to get back to striking at distance but Falkiner won't allow it.
Falkiner working hard to break the clinch. Zimmerman tightens his grip and picks Falkiner up, before dumping him to the ground. Falkiner manages to land in guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Zimmerman prevents Falkiner from getting back to his feet. Falkiner looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Falkiner is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Zimmerman will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Falkiner looking to control but Zimmerman passes into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Falkiner wants to control but Zimmerman is keeping busy.
Falkiner is looking to improve his position.
Falkiner works his way to full guard. Good work. Falkiner is trying to keep Zimmerman in close.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Falkiner scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Falkiner tries to clinch but Zimmerman is having none of it. Falkiner closes the distance and clinches. Zimmerman misses with a hook to the ribs.
Zimmerman pulls Falkiner into guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Falkiner trying to control but Zimmerman is working from the bottom. Zimmerman is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Falkiner defends well. Zimmerman is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Falkiner trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Zimmerman escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Falkiner gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Falkiner won't allow Zimmerman to sweep him here. Falkiner is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Zimmerman is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Falkiner trying to control the position from guard on top but Zimmerman is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Falkiner stops Zimmerman from standing up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Gilberto Zimmerman will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Falkiner closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Falkiner trying to control the position but Zimmerman is working away. Falkiner decides to stand up, so the ref orders Zimmerman to his feet. Falkiner closes the distance but Zimmerman moves to the side and Zimmerman counters with a straight right hand. Falkiner misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Zimmerman looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Falkiner is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Falkiner is breathing heavily. Zimmerman wants to improve his position but Falkiner is controlling well.

Justin Falkiner seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Falkiner closes the distance and clinches. Zimmerman fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Falkiner wants to break free but Zimmerman has control.
Falkiner turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Falkiner manages to end up in side control. Zimmerman sneaks out the side door and pushes Falkiner away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape. Falkiner takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Falkiner moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Zimmerman misses with a low kick.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Falkiner connects with a body shot. Falkiner misses with a wild combination.
Zimmerman stalks Falkiner and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Falkiner's face. Falkiner staggers backwards, shaken. Zimmerman swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Falkiner moves into the clinch. Falkiner tries to stall but Zimmerman uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Falkiner blocks an elbow strike from Zimmerman.
Zimmerman is trying to pull guard but Falkiner has him pressed against the cage. Zimmerman creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses. Falkiner dodges an elbow strike from Zimmerman.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Zimmerman jumps guard but Falkiner stands there with Zimmerman around his waist. Zimmerman gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Gilberto Zimmerman. That's going to take a lot out of him. Zimmerman tries to throw a body punch but Falkiner avoids it by throwing Zimmerman back against the cage. Zimmerman being controlled against the cage. Falkiner turns his back and goes for a hip toss. Gilberto Zimmerman dominated that second round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!
Falkiner chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Zimmerman can pounce on him.
Zimmerman gets caught flat footed, as Falkiner shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Zimmerman manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Zimmerman is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range. Falkiner cracks a nice hook into Zimmerman's ribs. Sloppy strikes from Zimmerman. Those never looked like landing. Zimmerman lands a nice shot that snaps Falkiner's head back.
Falkiner moves to clinch but Zimmerman breaks away enabling Zimmerman to counter with a crisp jab. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Falkiner moves to clinch but Zimmerman breaks away and Zimmerman counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
That's one minute gone in the round. Falkiner scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Zimmerman tries to escape but Falkiner is in control. Falkiner goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Zimmerman has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Falkiner but great work by Zimmerman. Falkiner takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Falkiner wants to control but Zimmerman postures up. Zimmerman working the body and head with strikes. Zimmerman scoring with punches and elbows. You can see the frustration on Falkiner's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Falkiner is looking for a sweep. Falkiner is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Zimmerman landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. Zimmerman scoring with punches and elbows. Zimmerman scores with punches from side control. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Zimmerman throwing shots but missing, from side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Falkiner is trying to buck Zimmerman off. Falkiner tries to bench press Zimmerman off him but Zimmerman keeps the position. Zimmerman working the head with strikes. Zimmerman gets to mount! Falkiner was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly. Falkiner tries to hold on but Zimmerman postures up. Falkiner really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Falkiner is in a horrible position here. Zimmerman smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Zimmerman wants to control the pace but Falkiner is squirming around nicely. Zimmerman dominating with strikes here. Zimmerman scoring with strikes but Falkiner is staying in there. Zimmerman is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Falkiner can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Falkiner takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
And that's the end of the fight! Gilberto Zimmerman showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Zimmerman, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
