Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mateusz Biernat (ranked 6576 p4p, 545 weight class) and Magnus Thoressen (ranked 4299 p4p, 444 weight class). Biernat comes to the cage accompanied by Słowa. Mateusz Biernat has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Mateusz Biernat! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Magnus Thoressen! The judges for this bout are James Glass, Richard Clark and James Atkins.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Thoressen misses with an attempted mid kick.
Biernat misses with an uppercut. Thoressen saw that one coming. Biernat tries to clinch there but Thoressen circles away.
Biernat moves out of range as Thoressen throws a body kick.
Biernat closes this distance looking for a takedown but Thoressen circles away. Thoressen feints a counter leg kick. Biernat fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Thoressen has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight. Biernat ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Biernat closes the distance and clinches up with Thoressen, looking for a takedown. Biernat pushes Thoressen against the cage but Thoressen circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mateusz Biernat. That's going to take a lot out of him. Biernat doesn't succeed with the takedown and Thoressen counters with a big head kick but Biernat shrugs it off. A nice leg kick lands there from Thoressen. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Biernat gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Thoressen makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. Biernat fails in his attempt to clinch. Thoressen throws a nice head kick!
It looks like Mateusz Biernat has been cut. Biernat shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Thoressen sprawls well. Thoressen wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Biernat gets slowly back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Thoressen connects with a high kick. Biernat tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Thoressen swivels and escapes. Biernat shoots in and gets a takedown into Thoressen's guard. Thoressen is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Biernat wants to control from the top but Thoressen keeps moving. Thoressen looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Thoressen looking to hit a scissor sweep but Biernat is one step ahead there. Biernat pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Thoressen is keeping the position for now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Biernat is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Thoressen is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Thoressen has escaped and now he's on top!
Biernat working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Thoressen doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Thoressen manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Thoressen decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Biernat, up you get! Biernat shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Thoressen as he jumps to the side. Magnus Thoressen is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Biernat avoids a kick to the body.
Biernat will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Thoressen goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. A little feinted left hand from Biernat on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Thoressen throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Thoressen throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Biernat shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Thoressen as he avoids it easily. Biernat is looking to clinch. Biernat keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Biernat dives in and grabs Thoressen's left leg, looking for a takedown. Thoressen pushes down on Biernat's head and hops out. Biernat shoots in and drives through. Thoressen sprawls well. Biernat tries for a takedown but Thoressen circles away easily and Thoressen connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Biernat is breathing heavily. Thoressen throws a body kick that digs right into the meat. Thoressen lets loose with a powerful body kick. Biernat will feel that in the morning. Biernat walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Biernat fails to land the takedown.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Thoressen thows a body kick. Biernat tries to catch it but that hurt him. A nice leg kick lands there from Thoressen. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Thoressen misses with a head kick.

Biernat tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Thoressen is able to avoid easily. That kick from Thoressen tenderised Biernat's leg. Biernat is trying to keep his angry face on. Thoressen tries to work over Biernat's front leg with a kick but Biernat checks it. Biernat misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Biernat shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Thoressen scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Biernat tries to close the distance and clinch up but Thoressen swats him away and circles back towards the center. Biernat is looking to clinch. Thoressen throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Magnus Thoressen dominated that round. The cut man is working on Mateusz Biernat's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Biernat takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards. Biernat takes a swing at Thoressen's ribcage but misses. Biernat takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Thoressen throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena. Thoressen has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Biernat ducks right into an uppercut from Thoressen. Biernat shoots for a double leg takedown but Thoressen sprawls well. He's pushed Biernat's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Thoressen scores with a push kick. Thoressen scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Thoressen scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Thoressen misses with a body shot.
Magnus Thoressen seems to be getting the better of the standup. Biernat swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Thoressen tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Thoressen buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Biernat fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Thoressen lands a head shot.
That's one minute gone in the round. Biernat uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Thoressen.
Biernat fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Thoressen avoids it really well and circles away. Biernat backing away here, and Thoressen unleashes a leg kick that just misses. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mateusz Biernat. That's going to take a lot out of him. Thoressen lands a nice looking body kick. Biernat on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Thoressen thuds his shin into the meat of Biernat's side. The fighters circle, before Thoressen throws a beautiful high kick that crashes into Biernat's neck, sending him stumbling to the floor! Thoressen lands more strikes and forces a referee stoppage! That one ended in an instant!
