Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Greg Black! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, James Jackson! The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, Bart Greer and Dirk Anderson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jackson moves into the clinch. Jackson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Black tries to clinch up but Jackson circles away and keeps his distance. Black tries a head kick but it misses.
Jackson throws a body kick that misses and Black counters with a three punch combo that has Jackson backing up. Jackson nods at Black to acknowledge the strikes. Jackson closes the distance and clinches. Black looking to stall.
Jackson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jackson pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Jackson shoots for a double leg takedown but Black sprawls well. He's pushed Jackson's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Jackson fails with the takedown and Black counters with a straight right hand.
That's one minute gone in the round. Black scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
It looks like James Jackson has been cut. Jackson takes the fight into the clinch. Jackson ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Jackson no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Jackson throwing rabbit punches from the bottom - showing the judges that he's keeping busy. Black would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Jackson is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Black trying to control the position from guard on top but Jackson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Jackson holds on and takes a little breather. Black wants to stand but Jackson has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Jackson throws a half hearted mid kick. Black went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected. Jackson misses with an uppercut
and Black counters with a big head kick but Jackson shrugs it off.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jackson closes the distance and clinches. Jackson looking for a takedown. Greg Black has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of James Jackson. Jackson fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Come on Jackson - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Jackson jumps guard but Black stands there with Jackson around his waist. Jackson gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Jackson is trying to pull guard but Black has him pressed against the cage. Jackson manages to break the clinch.
Horrible takedown attempt by Black or perhaps it was just good defense by Jackson, which made it look bad.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jackson shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Black manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Jackson throws a big right hand that misses. Jackson showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Jackson stands up from guard. Let's bang! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but James Jackson will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on James Jackson's cut. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Jackson throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Black throws a one two combo.
Jackson gets a clinch. Jackson's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Some bone on bone action there as Black checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Black stuffs the takedown. Jackson shoots and misses and Black counters with a left and a right that stings Jackson. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Black lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Jackson backs up against the cage.
Nice takedown defense from Black. No joy for Jackson on that attempt. Greg Black has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of James Jackson. Jackson is breathing heavily. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Black keeps the fight on the outside.
That's one minute gone in the round. Black closes the distance and pushes Jackson back into the cage. Black breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Jackson has taken the fight to the clinch.
Jackson is trying to drag Black to the mat but Black just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Jackson fails to pull the fight into his guard.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky. Black manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Jackson successfully pulls guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Black wants to get up but he can't break Jackson's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Black gets to his feet. Jackson looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Jackson showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Black.
Black tries to keep at a distance but Jackson has taken the fight into the clinch. Black has picked Jackson up - he's going for a ride! Black dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. Jackson tries to kick Black off in order to stand up. Black Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Black is looking to take a break and control but Jackson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Jackson parries the strikes from Black easily there. Black is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Jackson to escape.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Jackson manages to get back to half guard. Black thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Jackson tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Black has advanced to mount. Uh oh. Black throws some wild stikes that Jackson manages to avoid easily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jackson is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
Black landing punches. Jackson tries to get back to half guard but can't. Jackson wants to hold on but Black pushes him away. Black working for a guillotine from mount but Jackson is in no mood to give up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Greg Black dominated that second round. The cut man is working on James Jackson's cut. That's time! Black's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!
Jackson with a lazy takedown attempt and Black counters with a lovely shot to the body. Black stuffs the takedown attempt from Jackson. Jackson gets slowly back to his feet. Jackson blocks a head kick by Black.
Jackson wants to land a leg kick but Black is out of range. Black shoots in looking for a takedown. Jackson tries to sprawl out of it but Black keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Jackson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Jackson tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jackson fails in his attempt to clinch. James Jackson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Jackson gets a clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jackson fails to pull guard.
Greg Black has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of James Jackson. Jackson takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Jackson can't get the takedown.
Black letting Jackson take a breather here. Jackson breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

That has opened up James Jackson's cut even more. Greg Black is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Black moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
The cut above James Jackson's eye is starting to cause him problems now. Greg Black is winning the standup battle so far. Sloppy strikes from Jackson. Those never looked like landing. Jackson fails to land the takedown.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Black lands with an overhand left. Jackson takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Jackson is rocked! Black is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Jackson can do to turn this around? Black tries to clinch but Jackson moves out of range. Jackson is still on wobbly legs! Can Black finish him? Jackson with a lazy takedown attempt and Black counters with a lovely straight right hand! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Jackson seems to be squinting his left eye. Perhaps he got a poke in that previous exchange. Black shows no mercy and swarms him with a barage of strikes! Jackson is backing up but Black catches him with a final right hook that drops him! Jackson covers up and the referee steps in to end the fight! Black Jumps to his feet and flashes his guns to the crowd. Oh yeah, baby! How'd you like them apples?!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:44 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Greg Black!
