McGregor has chosen Nightmare as his entrance music. Andrew Drake is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Andrew Drake!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Buddy McGregor!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Daniel Franklin and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Left hook, right uppercut from McGregor.


It looks like Andrew Drake has been cut.
McGregor darts in and out, connecting with a jab.

Drake drives through with a takedown into guard.

McGregor wriggles free and stands up.
Drake really is a fat lump.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Drake slips a jab and a cross from McGregor.
McGregor lands with a nice combination. Drake backs away looking to recover.


Drake is rocked!

McGregor closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Oh Drake is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

McGregor gets control of Drake's arms and successfully pulls guard. McGregor will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Drake wanted to stand there but McGregor had control of the position.
McGregor throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Drake seems to have got his legs back now.
Drake stops McGregor from standing up.
Drake in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Drake has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of McGregor is proving hard to escape from.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Drake has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

McGregor clinches with his opponent.
Drake is trying to drag McGregor to the mat but McGregor just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Drake manages to break the clinch.

McGregor closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - McGregor lands in his opponent's guard.
McGregor won't allow Drake to sweep him here.
McGregor sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Drake's guard.

Drake regains full guard. Nicely done.

McGregor gets to his feet - Drake follows without any prompting.

McGregor gets in close and instigates a clinch.
McGregor wants to get back to striking at distance but Drake won't allow it.
McGregor has had enough of the clinch but Drake keeps him there for the moment.
Drake has McGregor pressed against the cage.
McGregor wants to break free but Drake has control.
Drake is trying to pull guard but McGregor turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Drake escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Drake shoots in for a takedown but McGregor shows good takedown defense.
And McGregor responds with a good body kick, but Drake manages to step out the way in time.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Andrew Drake. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Drake is breathing heavily.
McGregor fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Drake throws a predictable looking body shot
letting McGregor counter with a right hand.

Drake closes the distance and clinches.

Drake's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

McGregor closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Drake tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.

McGregor throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Drake wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by McGregor.
McGregor sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

Drake avoids a strike by McGregor and manages to complete a very nice reversal in the process, to end up in McGregor's guard! Fantastic escape!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Drake stands up from guard. Let's bang!

McGregor has Drake up against the cage in a clinch.

McGregor turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
McGregor throwing strikes but missing, from side control.
McGregor wants to lay and pray for a moment but Drake keeps working.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Buddy McGregor dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Andrew Drake's cut.
That's time! Drake's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


McGregor lands a jab to the nose.

McGregor shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Drake's guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

McGregor stands up from Drake's guard - McGregor perhaps looking for a knockout.
McGregor takes a kick to the side of the head.

McGregor throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
A jab from McGregor finds it's way through Drake's defenses.

McGregor clinches with his opponent.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
McGregor wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Drake has him pressed against the cage.
Drake dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage.
Drake is trying to pull guard but McGregor has him pressed against the cage.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
A short body shot lands from McGregor as the two fighters clinch.

Drake breaks the clinch.
Drake tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

McGregor shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Drake manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. McGregor keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

McGregor manages to break the clinch.
Drake shoots and misses
and McGregor counters with a stiff right hand.
Buddy McGregor seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Drake throws a wild hook but McGregor just manages to duck under it and - ooooh! Drake gets nailed by a brutal uppercut which crumples him back against the cage! The referee jumps in - McGregor raises his hands in celebration and walks away!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:39 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Buddy McGregor!
