Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ruma Juttu! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
55 - 34 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, John Kyle Romo! The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Richard Clark and Colin Fotheringham.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Romo instigates a clinch. Juttu tries a body shot but Romo blocks it.
Juttu lands with a short head shot on the inside. Romo is trying to force a seperation but Juttu has the dominant position. Romo blocking some punches.
I was talking to Juttu's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. Romo wants to break the clinch but can't.
Juttu working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely. Still in the clinch, Romo scores with a nice short uppercut. Juttu misses with a hook from the clinch. A short uppercut from Romo. Juttu takes an elbow to the forehead. Romo working hard to break the clinch. Romo manages to break the clinch.
Romo with a hook. Juttu takes a swing at Romo's ribcage but misses. Romo wants to slow Juttu down by chopping away at his legs. Romo stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Juttu. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Juttu slips a jab from Romo. Romo fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Juttu manages to avoid it. Juttu lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Juttu cracks the inside of Romo's front leg.
That's one minute gone in the round. Juttu on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Romo has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Romo swings away with a leg kick that misses. Juttu throws a leg kick but Romo sees it coming and moves out of range. Romo lands with a slapping head kick. Romo misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Juttu sets himself, and Romo steps forward looking for the clinch! Juttu avoids it this time. Romo tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him. A good leg kick by Juttu. Juttu moves out of range as Romo strikes. Juttu bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Romo's head backwards. Juttu buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Juttu throws a lazy uppercut
and Romo counters with a thumping low kick.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Juttu moves away from the strike by Romo. Juttu smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Romo is rocked! Juttu throws a quick inside leg kick. Romo is still on wobbly legs! Can Juttu finish him? BAM! Juttu delivers a spinning backfist that drops Romo like a ragdoll! This is all oooooveeeer! He was out before he hit the ground!
