Coming up we have a heavyweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Aloysius Martin Thesz (ranked 3854 p4p, 358 weight class) and Jiu Jitsu (ranked 2976 p4p, 296 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.
This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 20 wins and 15 losses; Aloysius Martin Thesz! And in the blue corner, fighting out of London, with a TWGC record of 6 wins and 9 losses; Jiu Jitsu! The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, James Glass and Richard Clark.
The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Jitsu gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Thesz (2) vs (0) Jitsu Thesz definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Thesz slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Score +3 for passing guard: Thesz (5) vs (0) Jitsu Jitsu is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Thesz wants to take a breather but Jitsu is having none of it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Thesz in particular looking to stall. Jitsu is refusing to be controlled, as Thesz sits in half guard. Thesz tries to pass the half guard into mount. Jitsu knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Thesz is keen to just control but Jitsu is a slippery customer. Jitsu looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Jitsu is trying to control but can't.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jitsu wants to improve his position but Thesz is controlling well.
Thesz passes the guard and advances to mount! Score +3 for passing guard: Thesz (8) vs (0) Jitsu Jitsu stops Thesz from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better. Jitsu is working to get back to half guard.
Thesz is trying to take his opponent's back.
Thesz tries to control but Jitsu wriggling away. Jitsu bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Score +2 for sweep to guard / half guard: Thesz (8) vs (2) Jitsu Thesz working a defensive guard here.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Thesz trying to control the position from guard on top but Jitsu is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Jitsu looking for a sweep. Not yet Jitsu, not yet. Jitsu throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Thesz trying to control but Jitsu is working from the bottom. Thesz forces his way into half guard. Jitsu looking for submissions off his back. Jitsu wants to improve his position but Thesz is controlling well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Thesz frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Score +3 for passing guard: Thesz (13) vs (2) Jitsu Thesz looking for a guillotine from mount but Jitsu is having none of it. Thesz prevents Jitsu from getting the reversal. Thesz fails to take his opponent's back. Thesz tries to control but Jitsu wriggling away. Jitsu can't escape the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Thesz takes Jitsu's back. Score +3 for taking back: Thesz (16) vs (2) Jitsu Thesz has the hooks in. Jitsu is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted. Thesz is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Jitsu has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Thesz has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Jitsu taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Thesz doesn't care though - he's delighted!
