Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Caleb Padilla!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, DeMarcus Ridley!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Chris Downing and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Padilla bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Ridley bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!

Padilla feints and as Ridley raises his hands in defense, Padilla changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Ridley pulls Padilla in close to prevent any damage.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Ridley can do anything to dispel that myth.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Padilla wants to control from the top but Ridley keeps moving.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Padilla accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Ridley is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Ridley is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

DeMarcus Ridley dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Ridley shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Ridley showed some decent athleticism there.
Ridley is trying to control. Padilla wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Ridley has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Ridley is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Ridley looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Padilla pushes Ridley off and gets back to his feet.

Padilla gets a clinch.

Ridley is fighting off a takedown attempt but Padilla is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Ridley to the mat. Ridley regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Padilla is fighting to break Ridley's control of his arms but Ridley is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Ridley. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

Ridley stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Padilla swivels though and keeps the full guard.
DeMarcus Ridley has got the better of the ground game so far.

That was a close second round but I would say that Caleb Padilla will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Padilla is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Padilla wants to stand up but Ridley is controlling him.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Padilla manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.

Ridley has Padilla pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Ridley pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Padilla tumbling to the mat - Ridley dives into Padilla's guard.

Ridley drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Padilla manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Ridley has Padilla in his guard.

DeMarcus Ridley comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Ridley has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
