Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Derrick Johnson (ranked 5451 p4p, 0 weight class) and Conor Mcgreror (ranked 5524 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Derrick Johnson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Conor Mcgreror! The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Sandra Marshall and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Johnson looks to land a right hand but Mcgreror moved out of range. Johnson misses with an uppercut
and Mcgreror counters by clinching up. Johnson wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Mcgreror is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Mcgreror working hard to break the clinch. Mcgreror throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Johnson blocks it with crossed arms. Mcgreror jumps guard and drags Johnson to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Johnson is stalling in the full guard. Johnson trying to control the position from guard on top but Mcgreror is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Johnson pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Mcgreror is keeping the position for now. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Johnson wants to control from the top but Mcgreror keeps moving. Johnson passes into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Johnson moves nicely into side control. Johnson trying to control the position but Mcgreror is working away. Johnson tries to move to mount but Mcgreror blocks the move with his legs. Johnson working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Johnson advances nicely into full mount. Mcgreror is wriggling around trying to escape.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Johnson wants to take Mcgreror's back here but Mcgreror is holding on to an arm, himself looking to escape.
Johnson looking for a guillotine from mount but Mcgreror is having none of it. Johnson looking to secure an arm triangle but Mcgreror defends it well. Mcgreror is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Johnson goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Mcgreror is on top in guard.
Johnson wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Mcgreror is now in half guard. Mcgreror really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Johnson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Mcgreror is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Johnson defends well. Mcgreror can't keep his opponent in guard - Johnson advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Johnson looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Mcgreror with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Johnson uses his free foot to push down on Mcgreror's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Mcgreror. Johnson wants to control the pace but Mcgreror is squirming around nicely. Mcgreror is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Derrick Johnson dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

and Mcgreror counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Johnson darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Mcgreror looks like he's trying to stand up.
Johnson is looking to take a break and control but Mcgreror is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Johnson is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Mcgreror defends it well. Johnson trying to mount his opponent but Mcgreror defends it. That's one minute gone in the round. Mcgreror is in trouble now - Johnson has advanced to mount! Johnson tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Johnson is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Mcgreror to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Mcgreror shrugs it off. Mcgreror stops Johnson from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better. Johnson tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Johnson wants to take Mcgreror's back here but Mcgreror is holding on to an arm, himself looking to escape.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Johnson postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Mcgreror looks a forlorn figure.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Johnson advances position into side control! Mcgreror is trying to control Johnson's posture but Johnson avoids it. The referee asks Johnson politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Johnson prefers to stall for the moment though. Johnson is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Mcgreror knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Johnson has knee on belly and moves into mount. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Johnson is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Mcgreror has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Mcgreror drives through with a takedown into guard. Johnson is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.

Johnson has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Mcgreror's body.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Johnson is looking to control Mcgreror but Mcgreror is wriggling around and keeping busy. Johnson is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Mcgreror knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Mcgreror for a finish. Mcgreror prevents Johnson from getting a body triangle. And that's the end of the fight! Derrick Johnson showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Johnson, winning every round. Will the judges agree?
