Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Mustafa Aray! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Callum Mcarthur ! The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Phil Schofield and Steven Brown.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Aray fails with a takedown attempt. Aray tries to score a power double leg takedown but Mcarthur sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Aray somewhat. Mcarthur tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Aray looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Mcarthur ! Aray is trying to get an arm triangle but Mcarthur is defending well. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Aray is trying to get an arm triangle but Mcarthur is defending well. Aray working the ground and pound but Mcarthur is defending the strikes.
That's one minute gone in the round. Aray in side control, throwing shots but Mcarthur defends. Mcarthur is trying to control Aray's posture but Aray avoids it. Aray is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Mcarthur knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Aray thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Aray misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Aray tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Aray has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Mcarthur tries to bench press Aray off him but Aray keeps the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Aray throws a strike aimed at the side of Mcarthur 's head but Mcarthur avoids it well. Aray has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Aray is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Mcarthur has escaped the position, nice work there. Aray is working to tighten his grip on Mcarthur 's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Mcarthur has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Aray is really squeezing tight and eventually Mcarthur passes out! Aray breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
