Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Whorely Alvarez (ranked 4597 p4p, 445 weight class) and Gaga Gogo (ranked 5419 p4p, 493 weight class). Whorely Alvarez had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 172.3lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gogo is looking to clinch.
Alvarez lands a head kick. Gogo smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
It looks like Gaga Gogo has been cut.
Alvarez misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Alvarez pushes Gogo away with a front kick.
Alvarez fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Gogo.
Alvarez clinches with his opponent.
Alvarez lands with a short shot to the head.
A right hook to the body lands for Alvarez.
Alvarez misses with a short punch on the inside.
A shot in the inside from Alvarez.
Alvarez tries a body shot but Gogo blocks it.
Alvarez lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Gogo on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Gogo tries to score a body lock takedown but Alvarez shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Alvarez definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Alvarez lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

Alvarez lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Gogo or not.
Alvarez makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Gogo blocks a body shot from Alvarez.
Gogo jumps guard but Alvarez stands there with Gogo around his waist. Gogo gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Gogo jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Alvarez walks away with a smile on his face. Gogo gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Whorely Alvarez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gaga Gogo.
Alvarez tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Gogo takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Alvarez lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Alvarez throws a nice head kick!
Gogo tries to score a power double leg takedown but Alvarez sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Gogo somewhat.

Gogo takes a kick to the side of the head.
Alvarez scores with a head kick. Gogo tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Alvarez throws a nice outside leg kick.
Gogo on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
Alvarez throws a leg kick which misses Gogo's front leg but catches the back leg as Gogo tries to avoid it.
Alvarez lands a head kick!
Alvarez connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Gogo misses with a takedown attempt
and Alvarez counters with a head kick that drops Gogo to the mat! Gogo scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly!
Gogo is rocked!
Alvarez moves into the clinch successfully.
Gogo is still on wobbly legs! Can Alvarez finish him?

A right hook to the body lands for Alvarez.
Gogo fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Gogo seems to have recovered his senses.
Alvarez lands a left hand that snaps the head of Gogo backwards.
Alvarez scores with a shoulder strike.
Alvarez works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Alvarez missing with knees to the body.
Alvarez tries to throw a body punch but Gogo avoids it by throwing Alvarez back against the cage.
Alvarez pushes off an throws an elbow but Gogo leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
Alvarez misses with a hook to the ribs.
Alvarez lands a shoulder strike.
Alvarez throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
Alvarez working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.
Gogo drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Alvarez gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Gogo blocks a body shot from Alvarez.
Gogo tries to work over Alvarez's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Alvarez gets through Gogo's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Alvarez tries a knee to the head but Gogo blocks it.
Alvarez lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Gogo wants to break the clinch but can't.
Gogo can't get the takedown.
Alvarez throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Gogos head.
Gogo tries to score a body lock takedown but Alvarez shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Whorely Alvarez dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Gaga Gogo's cut.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Gogo takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Gogo tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Alvarez defends well and Gogo ends up having to push Alvarez into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Alvarez swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Gogo.
Gogo tries to clinch but Alvarez moves out of range.
Alvarez lands a head shot.
Whorely Alvarez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Alvarez lands a brutal head kick. Gogo looks out on his feet and Alvarez throws more strikes until the ref is forced to stop the fight!
