Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Quincy Shepard (ranked 8447 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kent Mcallum (ranked 24297 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Quincy Shepard!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Kent Mcallum!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Daniel Bishop and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Shepard rushes Mcallum and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Shepard blocks the elbow strike.

Mcallum breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
A head kick misses from Shepard.
Despite the aggression on Mcallum's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Kent Mcallum seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Mcallum darts in and clinches Shepard up against the cage.
Shepard drops down looking for an ankle pick but Mcallum pulls his leg out and moves away.
Mcallum lands a high kick!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Shepard blocks a head kick by Mcallum.
Shepard tries to clinch but Mcallum moves out of range.
Shepard takes a kick to the side of the head.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Mcallum delivers a nice body kick.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Mcallum breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Shepard scores with a hook to the body. Mcallum takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
A nice inside leg kick there by Mcallum. That's going to slow Shepard down.
Mcallum blocks a head kick by Shepard.

Mcallum clinches up with Shepard and pushes him back against the cage.

Shepard wants the takedown. Mcallum is fighting it off but Shepard persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Mcallum's guard against the cage.

Mcallum looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Shepard passes into side control.

Shepard wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Mcallum, who protects the arm well.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Shepard is working Mcallum over with some ground and pound from side control.
Mcallum tries to bench press Shepard off him but Shepard keeps the position.
Mcallum wants to control but Shepard postures up.
Shepard cracks Mcallum with a big elbow.
Shepard scores with punches from side control.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Shepard cracks Mcallum with a big right hand but Mcallum just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Shepard stands up.
Shepard blocks a head kick by Mcallum.
Shepard tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Mcallum throws a sloppy head kick and Shepard moves out of range easily.
Shepard throws a lazy head kick
and Mcallum counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Shepard tries to clinch but Mcallum is having none of it.

Mcallum gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Shepard drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Shepard misses with a knee strike.
Shepard tries to pull guard but Mcallum holds him up against the cage and eventually Shepard drops back down to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Quincy Shepard. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Mcallum breaks the clinch.
Shepard takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

Mcallum gets tackled into the cage by Shepard. Shepard maintains the clinch.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Mcallum breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Mcallum throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Shepard appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Kent Mcallum will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Shepard clinches up against the cage.

Shepard successfully pulls guard.
Mcallum stops Shepard from standing up.
Shepard is pulling down on Mcallum's head to control his posture.
Mcallum tries to free his leg and advance position but Shepard is retaining full guard.

Mcallum is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Shepard has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Mcallum is looking to defend but Shepard has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Mcallum! Shepard pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Mcallum taps out and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:51 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Quincy Shepard!
