Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Stevie Stevens (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kharma Bearit (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stevie Stevens has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Stevie Stevens!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kharma Bearit!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Alec Ball and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stevens tries to clinch up.
Stevens is looking to land body kicks.

Bearit clinches up with Stevens and pushes him back against the cage.
Bearit keeps control of Stevens as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Stevens breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Stevens drives through with a takedown into guard.
Bearit trying to strike off his back.
Stevens wants to stand but Bearit has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Bearit keeping full guard, as Stevens tries to pass.

Bearit escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Stevens gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Bearit has his foot on Stevens's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Stevens works his way back into a safe position though.

Bearit working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Stevens has passed into half guard!
Bearit avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Stevens.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Stevens is trying to work for a kimura but Bearit is defending well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Bearit is defending against the submission attempts here by Stevens.
Stevens prevents Bearit from improving his position.

Bearit looking for submissions off his back.
Stevens thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Bearit makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
An inside leg kick lands from Stevens.
Bearit misses with a takedown attempt

and Stevens counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Bearit's guard now.
Bearit looks gassed!

Bearit looking for a guillotine here but Stevens defends easily.

Bearit has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Stevens can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Stevens wants to control from the top but Bearit keeps moving.
Stevens controls from within his opponent's guard.
Stevens has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Stevens trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Bearit looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Bearit had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Stevens is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Bearit Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Stevens's back instead.
Stevens trying to control the action but Bearit just sinks the hooks in.
Bearit throwing lazy shots from the back mount that aren't doing any damage.
Bearit misses with a punch to the head.

Bearit seems to be going for a rear naked choke. He has an arm under Stevens's chin but Stevens turns very nicely into Bearit's guard. Good BJJ skills being displayed there by Stevens.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Stevens throwing strikes but missing.
Bearit has a closed guard, preventing Stevens from standing up.
Bearit is trying to control the position but Stevens postures up.
Stevens tries to stand but Bearit is controlling from the bottom.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Stevens closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Stevens lands in his opponent's guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Bearit working for a triangle but Stevens defends it easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Stevie Stevens will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Stevens throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Bearit has his takedown stuffed

and Stevens decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Bearit's guard.

Bearit is looking to sinch up a triangle. Stevens throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Bearit's body to avoid the submission. Bearit has instead reached around Stevens's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Bearit arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:53 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Kharma Bearit!
