Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Deon Fernandez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Mac (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mac has chosen Dump the Clip as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Deon Fernandez is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Deon Fernandez! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Frank Mac! The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Damien Edna and Winston Howard.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mac scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Fernandez drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Mac keeping moving, preventing Fernandez from controlling successfully. Fernandez lands a couple of decent looking shots. Mac has momentary wrist control but Fernandez slips an elbow through the middle. Mac wants to get back to his feet but Fernandez is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Fernandez looking to pass the guard. Mac really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Fernandez. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Mac controls Fernandez momentarily but Fernandez frees himself. Fernandez might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mac pulls Fernandez in to control the position.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Mac connects with a nice looking jab.
Fernandez on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Fernandez closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Mac to the mat! Mac manages to get full guard. Fernandez drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Mac dives on top into guard. Fernandez has his foot on Mac's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Mac works his way back into a safe position though. Mac controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Fernandez is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Fernandez is breathing heavily. Fernandez looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Mac trying to control but Fernandez is working from the bottom. Mac wants to stand but Fernandez is controlling his posture from full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mac wants to control from the top but Fernandez keeps moving. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Mac tries to stand but Fernandez is controlling from the bottom.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Mac connects with a good right hand that stumbles Fernandez. Fernandez circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Mac forces Fernandez back against the cage and clinches. Mac stops a takedown attempt from Fernandez.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Mac creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Mac is working Fernandez over against the cage. A short right from Mac. Mac is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mac throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Fernandezs head. Mac pushes Fernandez back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. Mac scores with an uppercut up the middle. Mac lands a right hand. Mac is working Fernandez over against the cage. Fernandez jumps guard but Mac stands there with Fernandez around his waist. Fernandez gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Mac working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely. Mac lands with a short head shot on the inside. A nice right hand lands inside from Mac. A shot in the inside from Mac. Mac is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Mac lands a hook that snaps the head of Fernandez backwards. A left hand lands to the body for Mac.
Mac digs a right hand underneath Fernandez's ribcage. Fernandez let out a lung full of air as it connected. Mac lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Fernandez or not. Mac makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. Fernandez jumps guard but Mac stands there with Fernandez around his waist. Fernandez gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Deon Fernandez. That's going to take a lot out of him. A left hand lands to the body for Mac.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Mac is working Fernandez over against the cage. Mac lands a shoulder strike. Mac scores with an uppercut up the middle. A short left from Mac. Mac lands with a right to the head. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Frank Mac dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Mac connects with a single shot there.
Fernandez is rocked! Mac scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Mac lands with a right and another and another! Fernandez is in big trouble! Mac lands again and this time it's lights out for Fernandez! A quality knockout there for Mac.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:11 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Frank Mac! Frank Mac retains his featherweight title!
