Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sheamus Meallan (ranked 6010 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rui Rodrigo Germano (ranked 4743 p4p, 0 weight class). Germano has chosen HIM - Don't Fear The Reaper as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
3 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sheamus Meallan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
14 - 20 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rui Rodrigo Germano!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Chris Downing and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Germano misses with a combination
and Meallan counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Germano walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
It looks like Rui Rodrigo Germano has been cut.
Meallan throws a jab when Germano was well out of range.
Germano throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Germano will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Meallan throws a body punch but Germano moves out of range.
Meallan closes the distance and pushes Germano back into the cage.
Germano throws a head punch that misses.
Germano breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Meallan misses with an uppercut. Germano saw that one coming.
Germano walks into a jab.
Meallan swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Germano feints the counter takedown.
Germano defending well as Meallan loads up on a big left hand.
Germano drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Meallan defends it well.
Meallan needs to keep his hands up - Germano had a free shot at his head there.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Meallan staying out of range there.
Meallan misses the jab.
A jab from Meallan misses.
Meallan just misses with a punch to the body.
And Germano tries to counter it with a takedown but Meallan pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Germano takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Germano dives in and grabs Meallan's left leg, looking for a takedown. Meallan pushes down on Germano's head and hops out.
Germano swings for the body but Meallan moves out of range.
It looked like Meallan wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Germano blocks a jab.
Germano misses with a few strikes there.
Meallan pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Germano misses with an uppercut
and Germano takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Meallan throws a looping overhand right but Germano ducks down to avoid it.
Meallan lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Germano lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Germano goes for a double leg but Meallan avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Meallan continues to drive forward.
Meallan swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Meallan throws an overhand right that lands on Germano's shoulder, as Germano tries to avoid the shot.
Germano digs a good hook to Meallan's body.
Meallan gets caught flat footed, as Germano shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Meallan is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Germano dives into side control.
Meallan tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.
Meallan takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

Meallan is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
Meallan knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Germano on the ground.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Germano is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Meallan to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Meallan shrugs it off.
Germano quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Germano but it's paid off an Meallan is forced to tap! Nice work by Germano.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Rui Rodrigo Germano!
