0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Emir Salazar! The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Valeri Chadov and Dmitry Maklakov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Salazar clinches with his opponent.
Salazar successfully pulls guard.
Witt trying to control the position from guard on top but Salazar is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Witt throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Salazar wants to sweep here but Witt controlling him for the moment. Witt with a flurry of punches that miss. Witt has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Witt throws a big right hand that misses. Salazar looking to hit a scissor sweep but Witt is one step ahead there. Witt really is a fat lump. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Salazar manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Witt manages to get himself to full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round. Salazar postures up in Witt's guard and throws a big left but Witt blocks it. Salazar wants to stand and escape but instead Witt has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Salazar not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Salazar wriggles free and stands up. Witt tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Salazar paws at him with a jab and circles away. Salazar fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Witt on the side of the head.
It looks like Dick Witt has been cut. A nice inside leg kick there by Salazar. That's going to slow Witt down. Salazar shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Witt is trying to defend but Salazar finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Witt tries to roll over but Salazar keeps him under control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Salazar takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Witt is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Salazar pulls his head out easily. Salazar wants to take a breather but Witt is having none of it. Salazar is just content to waste time from the top position. Witt takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Salazar trying to control but Witt is working from the bottom.

Witt might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Salazar keeping moving, preventing Witt from controlling successfully. Salazar is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Salazar has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Witt is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Salazar. Salazar is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Salazar wants to stand back up but Witt manages to pass into side control.
Salazar gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Salazar is looking to control Witt's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Salazar avoid being mounted? Salazar manages to escape and get back to his feet! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Salazar wants to hit a switch here but Witt passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Salazar there! Salazar is desperately trying to improve his position but Witt has a good base and remains in mount. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Witt lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Salazar wants to sweep but no luck. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Salazar is breathing heavily. Salazar has his foot on Witt's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Witt works his way back into a safe position though.

Witt is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Salazar is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Salazar has escaped and now he's on top! Witt is trying to control the position from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Salazar wants to control from the top but Witt keeps moving. Salazar stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Witt swivels though and keeps the full guard. Salazar wants to stand and escape but instead Witt has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Witt drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Salazar manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Witt has Salazar in his guard. Witt uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Salazar's guard. Nice move by Witt! Witt throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Salazar is trying to improve his position. Salazar trying to control but Witt flips him over like a cheap hooker and has his back! Oooh a big shot gets through from Witt. Many more shots like that and the referee will have to think about stepping in!

That's four minutes gone in the round. Salazar is trying to stand back up. Watch the back of the head! Comes the shout from the referee towards Witt.
Witt wants to control the position but Salazar frees himself and scrambles - Witt manages to regain control in side control.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Salazar is trying to improve his position. Dick Witt overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Witt in side control lands a decent elbow.
