Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Simon Amil (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dave Saw (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dave Saw is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Simon Amil!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Dave Saw!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Steve Erwin and Damien Edna.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice takedown defense from Saw. No joy for Amil on that attempt.
Saw looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

Amil closes the distance and pushes Saw back into the cage.
Amil has Saw pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Saw manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Saw has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Amil uses from the top position.

Saw has a closed guard, preventing Amil from standing up.
Amil looking to sit in guard and control but Saw gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Amil shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Amil showed some decent athleticism there.

Amil has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Saw can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Amil on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Amil tries to get out of the position.

Saw gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Amil closes the distance and pushes Saw back into the cage.
Amil lands a body shot in the clinch.
Amil changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Saw fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Amil has a takedown stuffed.
A head kick from Saw lands but Amil takes it in his stride.
Amil moves in looking to clinch but Saw pushes him off.
Amil shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Saw pinned against the cage. Saw gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Saw keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Saw scoring well with a low kick there.
Amil shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Saw as he avoids it easily.
Saw lands a head kick. Amil smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
The fight stays on the outside here - Amil looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Saw throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Amil counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Saw's guard now.
Amil won't allow Saw to sweep him here.
Saw bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Amil's guard.
Saw content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Amil is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Saw is controlling him.
Saw slips nicely into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Saw perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Simon Amil dominated that second round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


Amil shoots in and drives through. Saw sprawls well.
Amil tries to clinch up.

Amil instigates a clinch.

Amil tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Amil jumps guard but Saw stands there with Amil around his waist. Amil gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Amil lands a hook that snaps the head of Saw backwards.
Amil fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Amil stops a takedown attempt from Saw.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Saw is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Amil tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Saw smiles and moves away.
Amil uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Saw has time to react.

Amil closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Saw to the mat! Saw manages to get full guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Saw is looking for a triangle but Amil pushes his legs off easily.
Saw keeping moving, preventing Amil from controlling successfully.
Amil won't allow Saw to sweep him here.

Saw wants to stand and escape but Amil is having none of it.
Amil wants to get up but he can't break Saw's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Saw manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Amil manages to get himself to full guard.

Saw stands and steps away. Amil gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Saw gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Amil holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Amil drags the fight down to the ground.
Saw prevents Amil from getting back to his feet.
Saw slips nicely into half guard.
Saw with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.

Saw postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Amil to stand up.
Saw throws a head kick that looked like it stung.

Amil closes the distance and pushes Saw back into the cage.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Saw is trying to maintain a safe position but Amil gets an underhook and turns Saw into the cage.
Saw takes an elbow to the forehead.
Amil changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Saw fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Saw scores with a body shot.

Amil has Saw up against the cage in a clinch.
Amil lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.

Amil pulls Saw into guard.
Saw trying to control the position from guard on top but Amil is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Simon Amil.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Amil, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
