Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Joe River (ranked 4958 p4p, 475 weight class) and Tyler Durden (ranked 2665 p4p, 286 weight class). River's entrance music is Linkin Park - Papercut (Hybrid Theory). A fine choice. Durden has chosen The Dust Brothers - This Is Your Life as his entrance music. This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
18 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Joe River! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
13 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tyler Durden! The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Alyssa Summers and Chad Campbell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! River punishes Durden's body with a nice straight punch. River uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Durden.
River misses with an uppercut. Durden saw that one coming. River lands a jab to Durden's midsection. Durden throws a sloppy body shot
and River counters with an outside leg kick.
Durden looks to throw a body kick and River counters with a straight right hand. Durden misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Durden takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. River looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. River misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Joe River is winning the standup battle so far. River uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Durden. River swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. River scores with the left hand. Durden knows he should have avoided that one. River connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. River cracks Durden with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Durden tries to land a leg kick but River saw it coming and moves away.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A swing and a miss from River. Durden with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling River to score with a decent uppercut. River just misses with a punch to the body.

The fight moves into the clinch position. River is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Durden is keeping busy. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of River. River lands the left hand. Joe River seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Durden steps to the side to avoid the strikes from River. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Durden! But no joy. A slow jab from River misses its intended target. Durden avoids the body shot from River.

Joe River dominated that second round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Joe River. Well River has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win...
