Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Carlos Petra (ranked 5488 p4p, 0 weight class) and Felipe Dias (ranked 4954 p4p, 0 weight class). Felipe Dias is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Carlos Petra! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Felipe Dias! The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Luis Engracia and Seu Braga.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Petra moves into the clinch successfully.
Petra wants a takedown but no success here.
Knees to the body from Dias.
Dias scores with a hook to the body. Dias lands an elbow just above Petra 's eye.
It looks like Carlos Petra has been cut. A knee to the head by Dias.
Petra gets control of Dias's arms and successfully pulls guard. Petra will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Petra lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Petra stops Dias from standing up. Petra controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Dias really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Petra. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Petra is pushing down on Dias's leg trying to pass to half guard. Dias is fighting to maintain full guard but Petra has managed to sneak the leg through. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Petra in particular looking to stall. Dias is trying to stand.
That's one minute gone in the round. Petra perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Dias is trying to stand up here but Petra is controlling him well. Still in half guard, Petra seems content to control. Dias is looking to escape. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Petra controlling the pace.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Dias blocks a head kick by Petra.
Carlos Petra seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Petra misses with a looping left. Dias moves into the clinch. Petra avoiding damage as Dias throws knees to the body.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Petra has clasped his hands together around Dias's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. Petra advances to full mount. Petra content just to control the position here. Dias trying desperately to get to his feet.

Dias is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
Petra tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Dias really wants to buck Petra off and get back to his feet. Petra postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Dias looks a forlorn figure.
Petra landing shots from mount. Petra scoring with strikes but Dias is staying in there. Petra scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Dias has given up his back, trying to stand up. Not clever. Petra controlling the position well here. Dias rolled but Petra kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.
Dias is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Carlos Petra dominated that round. The cut man is working on Carlos Petra's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Petra looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Dias is fending him off so far but Petra persists. Nope, Dias circles away and we're back to standing. Dias tries to clinch but Petra is having none of it. Dias moves in looking to clinch but Petra pushes him off. Dias tries to keep at a distance but Petra has taken the fight into the clinch. Petra misses with a punch to the body.
Dias tries to land a knee to the head but Petra blocks with his arms.
Petra breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Petra avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Dias wants to clinch up but Petra keeps it at a distance. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Petra throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Dias was covering up waiting for the punch and Petra finishes the takedown easily into guard. Petra is standing up over Dias. Dias looks to escape but Petra dives into side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Petra controls the position. Dias is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Petra asserts his dominance and retains side control. Petra works to advance to full mount. Dias defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs. Petra sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Petra is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Dias can do to turn this around?
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dias has given up his back here. Will Petra look for the submission or keep pounding away?
I would not like to be Dias right now.
Petra lands shots from the back. Petra has the hooks in and he's looking for a rear naked choke here. Dias is defending well but eventually Petra manages to get an arm under the chin and he's locked on the RNC! Dias has no choice but to tap now! He does! This one is all over!
