Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Lionel Stanton! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Milleer Salazar! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Yukihiro Shimada and Yasuomi Hirokawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Salazar is looking to clinch but Stanton is avoiding it.
Stanton went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected. Stanton throws a low kick but it's checked well by Salazar. Salazar manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Stanton on his heels. He'll look to pass Stanton's guard now, I'm sure. Stanton scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Stanton keeps the fight on the outside. Stanton went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected. Salazar tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Salazar decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Stanton looks like he's trying to stand up.
Stanton trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
That's one minute gone in the round. Stanton could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Salazar wants to take a breather but Stanton is having none of it.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Salazar lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Stanton gets caught napping as Salazar dives in and scores a takedown. Stanton manages to retain guard. Stanton has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Salazar can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Stanton looking to control.
Stanton is breathing heavily. Salazar wants to control from the top but Stanton keeps moving.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Stanton has his foot on Salazar's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Salazar works his way back into a safe position though. Stanton keeping moving, preventing Salazar from controlling successfully. It looks like Lionel Stanton has been cut. Salazar changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Stanton looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Stanton wants to get back to his feet. Stanton tries to bench press Salazar off him but Salazar keeps the position. Stanton is not content to let Salazar control the position. The strikes coming from Salazar are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Stanton might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Salazar is looking to take a break and control but Stanton is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Salazar landing strikes.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Stanton is looking to get back to his feet here but Salazar is keeping cool and he's managed to take Stanton's back. Stanton trying to get back to his feet but Salazar is in full control for now. Salazar really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Stanton. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Salazar tries to keep control of the position but Stanton is staying busy. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Salazar looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Stanton pushes Salazar off but Salazar dives into side control.

Stanton is pushing Salazar's head away, looking to escape. Salazar manages to hold on to the position though. Stanton is not content to let Salazar control the position. Stanton is trying to buck Salazar off. Salazar wants to lay and pray for a moment but Stanton keeps working. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Salazar tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Stanton paws at him with a jab and circles away. Stanton throws a big counter combination but Salazar scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage. Stanton tries to sprawl but Salazar drives through with a takedown into half guard. Stanton has one foot on Salazar's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet. Salazar closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Salazar lands in his opponent's guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Salazar wants to control from the top but Stanton keeps moving. Milleer Salazar has got the better of the ground game so far.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Salazar landing some decent shots from guard. Salazar wants to control from the top but Stanton keeps moving.

Salazar moves in looking to clinch but Stanton pushes him off. It looked like Stanton was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Salazar scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Salazar scores with a jab to the head.

The fight stays on the outside here - Salazar looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Salazar bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Stanton wants to get back to his feet but Salazar is dominant here and he's now got Stanton's back!

Salazar tries to keep control of the position but Stanton is staying busy. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Stanton tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! Salazar wants to control the pace but Stanton is squirming around nicely. Stanton keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Salazar wants to control the pace but Stanton is squirming around nicely. Milleer Salazar is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Salazar prevents Stanton from getting the reversal. Stanton is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.

And that's the end of the fight! Milleer Salazar comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Salazar has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
