Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Rick Rawse (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bob Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rawse's entrance music is Hustlin'. A fine choice. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

7 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Bob Johnson! The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Johnson tries to close the distance and clinch but Rawse swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Johnson throws a front kick that sends Rawse stumbling back into the ropes. Johnson tries to close the distance and clinch but Rawse swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Johnson pushes Rawse up against the ropes in a clinch. Rawse takes an elbow to the temple. Johnson with a knee to the head.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Johnson actively working from the bottom here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Johnson wants to control but Rawse is keeping busy and won't allow it. Rawse landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Rawse working over Johnson with some ground and pound. Johnson looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Johnson has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Rawse is working away from the top position though. Rawse lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Rawse thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Johnson is trying to maintain the position but Rawse is very close to passing his half guard. Rawse is keen to just control but Johnson is a slippery customer.

Rawse fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Rawse prevents Johnson from getting the reversal. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Johnson taking shots to the head. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Johnson taking shots to the head. Johnson tries to hold on but Rawse postures up. Rawse pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Johnson wants to control but Rawse postures up. Rawse is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Johnson knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Johnson manages to get back to half guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Johnson is controlling Rawse's trapped leg to prevent Rawse from advancing to side control. Johnson is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Rawse's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Rawse's back! Johnson has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Rawse's body.

Despite being in the dominant position, Bob Johnson just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Rawse shoots for a double leg takedown but Johnson sprawls well. He's pushed Rawse's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Rawse avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Johnson moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Johnson moves in looking to clinch but Rawse pushes him off. Bob Johnson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Johnson pulls out of a head kick attempt.

He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Johnson cracks the inside of Rawse's front leg. Rawse fails to land the takedown. Johnson fails in his attempt to clinch. The fight stays on the outside here - Johnson looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Johnson misses with a head kick.
