Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jack Johnson (ranked 6887 p4p, 531 weight class) and Timothy Rex (ranked 6719 p4p, 529 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Yukihiro Shimada and Yuuki Gou.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rex clinches up against the cage.

Rex can't find room to land a body shot as Johnson controls the action.

Johnson blocks an elbow strike from Rex.
Johnson's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Rex is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Johnson is defending well for now.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Rex has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Johnson creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Rex swings wildly with an uppercut but Johnson uses good head movement to avoid it.
Johnson scores with a nice hook to the head.

Rex misses with a hook to the ribs.
Johnson lands with a left to the head.
Rex's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Rex is rocked!
Johnson pushes Rex against the cage. Johnson is working some dirty boxing. Johnson pushes off with a quick right hook! Rex goes down! Rex tries to stand but stumbles back to his kness! Johnson moves in to finish and the ref steps in to prevent any more damage!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jack Johnson!
