Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Fri Day (ranked 3677 p4p, 166 weight class) and Graham Hunt (ranked 5605 p4p, 213 weight class). The key to victory for Fri Day has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Fri Day!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Graham Hunt!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Yukihiro Shimada and Yuuki Gou.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hunt shoots in for a takedown but Day shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Hunt scores with a takedown into Day's guard.
Day pulls Hunt in close to prevent any damage.
Day keeping full guard, as Hunt tries to pass.
Day wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Day definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Day continues to stall.
Hunt wants to control from the top but Day keeps moving.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hunt passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Hunt tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Hunt has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Day is looking for a sweep.
Day controls the position for a moment.
Hunt wants to control but Day is keeping him busy.
You can see the frustration on Day's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hunt goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Day rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Hunt's guard! Nice work there by Day!

Day wants to pass the guard but Hunt is defending well.

Still in half guard, Day seems content to control.

Day is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Hunt tries to get to full guard but Day has control of the leg.

Day is looking to stall here but Hunt recovers full guard.
Day controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Day trying to control but Hunt is working from the bottom.

Hunt trying to keep a closed guard but Day is proving a slippery customer.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

A close round but Graham Hunt will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Day cracks Hunt with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Day misses with an uppercut. Hunt saw that one coming.
Hunt has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Day finds it's way round the side to connect with Hunt's head.
Day scores with a hook.
Hunt walks into a left hand.
Day slaps away a takedown attempt from Hunt, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Day connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Day looks to throw the jab but Hunt is out of range.
Hunt uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Day.
Hunt slips a jab from Day.
A telegraphed right hand from Day misses the target.
Day throws a big shot that misses.
Day scores with a jab to the head.
Graham Hunt is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Hunt fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Day avoids it really well and circles away.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Day lands an overhand right.
Hunt looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Day is fending him off so far but Hunt persists. Nope, Day circles away and we're back to standing.
Fri Day has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Graham Hunt.
Day punishes Hunt's body with a nice straight punch.

Hunt closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Day trying to control but Hunt postures up.
Day knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Hunt on the ground.
Hunt tries to pass to full mount but Day defends it.
Hunt trying to control from half guard but Day is working away.
Day is trying to maintain the position but Hunt is very close to passing his half guard.

Hunt is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Day is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
