PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Edward Beerhands (ranked 738 p4p, 26 weight class) and Mark Hill (ranked 320 p4p, 11 weight class). Beerhands comes to the cage accompanied by Drinkin'. Mark Hill told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Edward Beerhands!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mark Hill!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Daniel Bishop and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hill shoots in but no luck this time.
A little feinted left hand from Beerhands on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Beerhands seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Hill misses with a takedown attempt
and Hill takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.


It looks like Mark Hill has been cut.
Beerhands loads up on a big right hand but Hill slips the punch.

Edward Beerhands has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mark Hill.

Hill drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Beerhands is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Hill is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Hill looks up at the clock and then as Beerhands takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Hill smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Hill connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Beerhands some visible discomfort.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hill is nestled in close to Beerhands, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Beerhands seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Beerhands has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Hill can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mark Hill dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Mark Hill's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Hill closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Beerhands to the mat! Beerhands manages to get full guard.
Beerhands is trying to control the position but Hill postures up.

Beerhands escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hill gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Hill lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

Beerhands tries to roll over but Hill keeps him under control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hill wants to lay and pray for a moment but Beerhands keeps working.

Hill looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Beerhands with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Hill lands a nice short elbow.

Hill working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
Beerhands tries to lock up and control but Hill gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Hill is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Beerhands can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Oh Beerhands is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Hill wants to control the pace but Beerhands is squirming around nicely.
Beerhands seems to have got his legs back now.
Beerhands is in all sorts of trouble here.
Beerhands is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Beerhands tries to reverse the position but Hill maintains control.
Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground!
Beerhands wants to hold on but Hill pushes him away.
Hill in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.

Beerhands sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Beerhands moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Beerhands looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Hill passes into side control.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Hill is in full mount looking to finish with strikes. He lands a big shot, followed by another and Beerhands goes limp! The ref jumps in to end the fight - a big win for Hill!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Mark Hill!
After winning the bout, Mark Hill thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
