Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Diego Rodrigo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tomas Angeltun (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Thiago Cunha and Edson Gomes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rodrigo misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Rodrigo swats away the attempt to clinch by Angeltun.
Rodrigo throws a shot from downtown. Angeltun moves away and avoids it.
Rodrigo tries to clinch but Angeltun moves away
and Angeltun decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Rodrigo's guard.

Angeltun gets to his feet. Rodrigo looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

and Angeltun counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

Angeltun seems to be working for a kimura but Rodrigo defends the submission attempt.
Rodrigo tries to roll over but Angeltun keeps him under control.
Angeltun perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Rodrigo makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Rodrigo.

Rodrigo wants to get back to his feet but Angeltun passes into half guard.
Rodrigo moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Angeltun accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Rodrigo could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Rodrigo breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Angeltun misses with a low kick.
Angeltun closes the distance and clinches.
Angeltun wants to break the clinch but can't.
Angeltun breaks from the clinch.
Angeltun gets a takedown into half guard.
Rodrigo looking for submissions from an awkward position here.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Rodrigo is on top in guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Rodrigo makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Rodrigo with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Rodrigo keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Angeltun's head.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Angeltun is on top in guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Rodrigo working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Angeltun doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Angeltun manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Rodrigo misses with a takedown
and Angeltun counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Rodrigo throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Angeltun counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

Rodrigo wants to control from the top but Angeltun keeps moving.
Rodrigo slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Rodrigo cracks Angeltun with a big elbow.
Angeltun is breathing heavily.
Rodrigo scores with a couple of short elbows.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Rodrigo is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Angeltun looks calm but he's in trouble here. Rodrigo gets his head over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Angeltun is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Rodrigo lets go of the hold and Angeltun can pop his arm back in it's socket.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:20 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Diego Rodrigo!
