0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, John Lineker! The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Alyssa Summers and John Roberts.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The fight stays on the outside here - Lineker looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Santana tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Lineker manages to circle out of the way. Santana is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Lineker.
It looks like Bill Santana has been cut. Santana has taken the fight to the clinch.
Santana is trying to break free. Santana is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Santana prevents the takedown attempt.
Santana is struggling to control the position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Santana clinches up against the cage. Lineker keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Santana's efforts to push away. Lineker gets a trip takedown into half guard. Santana is trying to stand up here but Lineker is controlling him well. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Lineker wants to get up but he can't break Santana's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. John Lineker seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

That was a close round but I would say that Bill Santana will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Bill Santana's cut. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Lineker pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Lineker shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Santana as he jumps to the side. Santana dodges the punch combination from Lineker.

Santana drops down looking for a counter takedown but Lineker sprawls and moves away. Santana drives through and clinches with Lineker against the cage.
Santana breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Lineker misses with a few strikes there.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Santana tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Santana holds on and takes a little breather. Santana wants to stand and escape but Lineker is having none of it. Bill Santana overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Lineker stopping the sweep attempt from Santana.

John Lineker has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Bill Santana is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Lineker throws a right and a left that Santana avoids nicely.
And that's the end of the fight! Bill Santana showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Santana, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
