Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Urijah Hall Jr (ranked 6967 p4p, 595 weight class) and Alex Marida (ranked 7820 p4p, 618 weight class). Hall Jr comes to the cage accompanied by Dirt Off Your Shoulder-Jay Z. Alex Marida is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Alex Marida!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Steven Brown and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marida avoids a punch combination nicely.

Marida moves into the clinch.
Marida is stalling here.
Marida gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Hall Jr.

Marida has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Hall Jr is trying to keep an underhook but Marida manages to get the takedown into half guard.

Marida drops an elbow to the side of Hall Jr's head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hall Jr moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Hall Jr is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Marida really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hall Jr. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Hall Jr is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Marida defends well.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Marida with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Oh Hall Jr is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Marida arches his back and unloads with a massive left and a right! Hall Jr's eyes roll back into his head, he's out cold! The ref dives in to stop the fight - wow, they were hard shots!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Alex Marida!
Urijah Hall Jr spoke after the fight, saying 'I lost the battle, but won the war. Fuck that guy and his whole team, bunch of chumps...'.
