Hamilton is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Alexander Hamilton. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 19 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Jimmy McLarnin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Alexander Hamilton!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Albert Achterberg and Patrick Alders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hamilton misses with a takedown
enabling McLarnin to counter with a crisp jab.

Hamilton looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Hamilton throws a strike but McLarnin rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Our spies down at at The Coffee Shop inform us that Hamilton has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?

McLarnin decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Hamilton moves in looking to clinch but McLarnin pushes him off.

It looks like Alexander Hamilton has been cut.

McLarnin is looking to take this one to the mat.

Hamilton has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. McLarnin is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

McLarnin has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Hamilton avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Hamilton is pushing McLarnin up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

McLarnin works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
McLarnin won't allow Hamilton to sweep him here.

McLarnin throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Hamilton tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. McLarnin is in Hamilton's guard.

A little jabbing left from Hamilton on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.

McLarnin lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
McLarnin is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Hamilton can do to turn this around?

Hamilton really doesn't want to stay on the ground with McLarnin. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Hamilton lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Hamilton shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

and McLarnin counters with a big head kick but Hamilton shrugs it off.
Hamilton has his takedown stuffed
and McLarnin counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

McLarnin scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Hamilton tries for a takedown but McLarnin sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

McLarnin seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.

Hamilton will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

McLarnin connects with a body shot that sends Hamilton's belly button to the back.

Hamilton has his foot on McLarnin's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. McLarnin works his way back into a safe position though.

McLarnin not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
McLarnin pulls out of a head kick attempt.

McLarnin feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Hamilton throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! McLarnin escapes and throws Hamilton's legs to the side, diving into side control!

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Jimmy McLarnin.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for McLarnin, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
