The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
william will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Alves misses with a hook.
william throws a series of punches but Alves moves out of range.
Alves misses with a straight left.
william tries to bum rush Alves with a series of wild strikes but Alves uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
william slips under a jab from Alves.
william takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

Alves throws a jab when william was well out of range.
william ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Alves takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Alves is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! william is forced to tap! Great finish!
