Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Thompson (ranked 5642 p4p, 562 weight class) and Paul Rabbitte (ranked 5500 p4p, 559 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Daniel Thompson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Paul Rabbitte! The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Aleksandr Martynov and Valeri Chadov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Thompson looks for a takedown but Rabbitte sprawls well. Rabbitte shoots in looking for a takedown. Thompson tries to sprawl out of it but Rabbitte keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Thompson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Rabbitte rushes Thompson and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Thompson pulls guard. Rabbitte wants to stand and escape but instead Thompson has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Thompson wants to pass the guard but Rabbitte is keeping the position. Thompson slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Thompson tries to free his leg and advance position but Rabbitte is retaining full guard. Thompson slips nicely into half guard. Rabbitte avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Thompson. Thompson content to control rather than advance. Thompson throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Rabbitte tries to get to full guard but Thompson has control of the leg. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Thompson works his foot free and advances to mount. Thompson throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Rabbitte because Thompson loaded up on that one. Thompson jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Rabbitte manages to avoid the submission attempt. Rabbitte seems a little lost for a moment, as Thompson dominates the positioning. Rabbitte is looking for a sweep. Thompson content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Thompson has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Rabbitte is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Thompson yanks on the arm and Rabbitte is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Thompson.
