Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dexter Hernandez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Joey Farboni!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Farboni moves into the clinch.

Farboni decides to pull guard.
Hernandez not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Farboni seems keen to control Hernandez's posture.
Farboni throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Farboni wants to improve his position but instead Hernandez has moved into half guard.
Farboni is looking to improve his position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hernandez landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.

Farboni preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.
Farboni wants to control but Hernandez is keeping busy.
Hernandez looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Farboni with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Farboni tries to roll over but Hernandez keeps him under control.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Hernandez in particular looking to stall.
Farboni wants to get back to full guard but Hernandez has passed into side control.
Hernandez wants to stand but Farboni is controlling his arm.
Farboni wants to control but Hernandez postures up.
Farboni throws a couple of strikes even though he's not really in a good position to do so.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Farboni looking to score a takedown here. Hernandez is defending well but Farboni drives through and ends up in Hernandez's guard.

Farboni wants to control from the top but Hernandez keeps moving.
Farboni might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Hernandez haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Hernandez's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Farboni shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Hernandez manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hernandez is trying to keep Farboni in close.
Hernandez is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Farboni is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Farboni is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Hernandez is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Hernandez has escaped and now he's on top!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Farboni wants to control the action here but instead Hernandez manages to pass to full mount!

Farboni looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Hernandez has picked Farboni up and slammed him! Farboni can't keep hold of the triangle and Hernandez manages to pass to side control!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Farboni is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Hernandez is aware though and is defending well.
Farboni bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Hernandez's guard.

Farboni seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Hernandez does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

And that's the end of the fight!
Joey Farboni comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Farboni has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
