Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Will Andreas! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Lucky Day! The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Andrew Berry and Richard Clark.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Day swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Andreas feinted with a counter takedown. Andreas really is built like a bowling ball. I wonder if he'd roll if you pushed him down a hill... Andreas gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Day throws a big shot that misses. Andreas has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Day bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Andreas's head backwards. Day tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Andreas was well out of range. Poor timing from Day. Andreas feinted with a counter takedown. Day with a jab. Day scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Nice uppercut lands for Day. That snapped Andreas's head back.
Jab by Day. Day lands a head shot. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Day misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Andreas.
That's one minute gone in the round. Andreas misses with a takedown attempt - Day sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Day scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. Day lands with a right hand. Day connects with a looping right hand.
Day lands a glancing blow to the side of Andreas's head. A looping hook to the body misses from Day. Andreas does a little dance to reset his feet. Andreas changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. Day has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Andreas is landing a low percentage of strikes. Andreas takes one on the button. Lucky Day is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Day ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. Andreas drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Day throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Nice shot by Day. Day cracks Andreas with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Day connects with a good right hand that stumbles Andreas. Andreas circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Day waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Andreas. Andreas has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Day finds it's way round the side to connect with Andreas's head. Day works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Day lands a jab to the nose. Day connects with a jab. Andreas moves away from the strike by Day. Andreas feinted with a counter takedown. Day cracks Andreas with an open hand slap. Day ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Andreas moves away. Day lands with an overhand left.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd cheers as Day lands an impressive looking overhand right. Andreas doesn't seem phased though. Andreas walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Day scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Day lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Andreas looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Day is fending him off so far but Andreas persists. Nope, Day circles away and we're back to standing. Andreas steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Day. Andreas looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that. Andreas ducks under a wild hook from Day. Andreas drops down looking for a counter takedown but Day sprawls and moves away. Day lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Jab from Day. Good standup being displayed there by Day as he connects with a hook. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Lucky Day dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Andreas avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Andreas half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. Day might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. Day lands with an overhand left. Day has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Day sends Andreas crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Day is motioning to the referee to let Andreas up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
Andreas is rocked! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Day throws a monster overhand right that drops Andreas! Day follows up with more strikes from mount and the fight is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Lucky Day! Lucky Day really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Freebok (85% Laundry) logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
