PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Noah Brawler (ranked 4251 p4p, 468 weight class) and Doctor Strangeee (ranked 6852 p4p, 581 weight class). Brawler comes into the arena with Marky Mark - Good Vibrations blaring out of the sound system. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Noah Brawler!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Doctor Strangeee!
The judges for this bout are Josh West, Jeff Smith and Paul Gruel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Brawler shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Brawler was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Strangeee dodges the ground and pound from Brawler.
We've been hearing that Brawler has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.
Strangeee regains half guard.
Brawler has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Strangeee wants to get back to full guard.
Brawler not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Brawler missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Strangeee can do anything to dispel that myth.
Brawler landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Brawler thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Strangeee is looking to control Brawler's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Strangeee avoid being mounted?
Brawler stops Strangeee from getting back to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Strangeee on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Strangeee has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Brawler is working away from the top position though.

Brawler postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Strangeee to stand up.

Brawler uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Strangeee.
Brawler shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Strangeee but Strangeee pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Brawler shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Brawler showed some decent athleticism there.

Strangeee is looking for a sweep. Brawler is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Strangeee is looking to control Brawler's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Strangeee avoid being mounted?
Brawler is nestled in close to Strangeee, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Brawler throwing shots but Strangeee is blocking nicely.
Strangeee is trying to stand up here but Brawler is controlling him well.

Brawler passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Strangeee!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Brawler lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Brawler thowing shots but they're missing.
Brawler throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Strangeee because Brawler loaded up on that one.
Brawler has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Strangeee's face.
Strangeee is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Strangeee is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Strangeee is rocked!

Brawler jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Strangeee manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Strangeee is still in real trouble! Can Brawler finish him?

Brawler is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Strangeee has escaped the position, nice work there.
Strangeee seems to have recovered his senses.
Brawler creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Strangeee sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Strangeee managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Brawler.
Strangeee tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Brawler fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Brawler with the ground and pound but Strangeee regains half guard under the barage of strikes.
Brawler throwing shots but Strangeee is blocking nicely.
Strangeee really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Brawler. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Brawler thows a huge punch but Strangeee dodges it nicely.
Brawler thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Strangeee's head.
Strangeee is trying to stand back up but Brawler is controlling him
Brawler takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Strangeee wants to control but Brawler is keeping busy.
Brawler throwing shots but Strangeee is blocking nicely.
Brawler thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Brawler thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Strangeee's head.

Strangeee preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Noah Brawler dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Strangeee is looking to clinch.
Noah Brawler seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Strangeee scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Brawler lands a two punch combo.
Brawler fails to land the takedown.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Brawler.
Strangeee clobbers Brawler with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.


It looks like Noah Brawler has been cut.
Strangeee showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Brawler.
Strangeee throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Brawler sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Brawler changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.

Strangeee lands a big right hand that sends Brawler crashing to the mat! Strangeee stays standing though and waves Brawler back to his feet!


Brawler is rocked!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Strangeee fakes the body blow, causing Brawler to drop his hands! Left hook to the temple! Brawler goes stiff, and falls face first into the mat. Goodnight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:50 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Doctor Strangeee!
A relieved looking Doctor Strangeee thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
Noah Brawler spoke after the fight, saying 'Thanks for the fight, it wasn't my night. Maybe next time'.
