Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sam Bellafontane! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Daniel Brand! The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Saam Ante and Patrick Alders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice straight punches there by Brand. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Brand. Bellafontane fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Brand sprawls well initially but Bellafontane persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Brand manages to escape and get back to his feet! No luck for Bellafontane with that takedown attempt. Bellafontane throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Brand tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Bellafontane is in Brand's guard. Brand uses the cage to get back to his feet.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Brand lands a really nice looking cross but Bellafontane seems unphased.
Bellafontane definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Sam Bellafontane seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Bellafontane manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Brand on his heels. He'll look to pass Brand's guard now, I'm sure. Brand wriggles free and stands up. Bellafontane changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Brand tries to avoid it but Bellafontane manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Brand to the ground. Brand escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Bellafontane is breathing heavily. Bellafontane shoots and misses and Brand counters with a stiff right hand. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sam Bellafontane. That's going to take a lot out of him. Brand lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Brand lands a slapping body shot.
Brand comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Brand works Bellafontane's body with a nice hook. Brand cracks Bellafontane with a hook to the temple - Bellafontane is on wobbly legs here! Brand swarms him with hook after hook, landing with each one! Bellafontane falls to the canvas face first and the referee dives in to stop the fight! Brand wins by TKO!
