Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Eddie Harte! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Marcus Harris! The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Bruno Lombardi and Russell Pearce.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Harte has his takedown stuffed and Harris counters with a left to the body. Harris ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Harte is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Harris's half guard. Harris kicks Harte off and gets back to his feet. Harte shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Harte showed some decent athleticism there. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Harte trying to control from half guard but Harris is working away. Harte is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Harris is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Harte wants to advance to full mount but Harris doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead. Harte controls from within his opponent's guard.

Harte stands up from Harris's guard - Harte perhaps looking for a knockout. Harte shoots and misses and Harris counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Harte with a lazy takedown attempt and Harris counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Eddie Harte. That's going to take a lot out of him. Harte with a poor takedown and Harris counters with a three punch combo that has Harte backing up. Harte nods at Harris to acknowledge the strikes. Harte is breathing heavily. Harte doesn't succeed with the takedown and Harris makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Harte shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Harris pinned against the cage. Harris gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Harris steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Harte.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Harte shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Harris is positioning himself well to prevent Harte advancing to mount. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Harte wants to free his trapped foot but Harris is holding on for dear life with his legs. Harte stalling away here and it's allowed Harris to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard. Harris has control of Harte's left arm, preventing Harte from doing any damage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Harris is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Harte is pushing down on Harris's leg trying to pass to half guard. Harris is fighting to maintain full guard but Harte has managed to sneak the leg through. Harris is refusing to be controlled, as Harte sits in half guard. Harris holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now. Harris is continuing to stall. Harte trying to control from half guard but Harris is working away. Harte is taking a breather. Harris says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Harte wants to take a breather but Harris is having none of it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Harte performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Harris is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Harte's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Harte's back! Harte is really stuck here.
Harris trying to secure his dominant position for a moment - making sure Harte doesn't escape. Harte tries to roll but Harris sticks to his back.
Harris really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Harte. Harris controlling well, preventing Harte from escaping the position.

Harte looking to score a takedown here. Harris is defending well but Harte drives through and ends up in Harris's guard. Harris has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Harris keeping moving, preventing Harte from controlling successfully. Harte pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Harris is keeping the position for now. Harris avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Harte trying to control but Harris is working from the bottom. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Harris is pulling down on Harte's head. It's preventing any offense from Harte, at least for the moment. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Harte slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
That's one minute gone in the round. Harte shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Harris as he jumps to the side. Harte misses with a takedown attempt and Harris makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Harris wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Harte with a lazy takedown attempt and Harris counters with a nice uppercut. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Eddie Harte. That's going to take a lot out of him. Harris is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Harte shoots in looking for a takedown. Harris tries to sprawl out of it but Harte keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Harris manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Harte doesn't succeed with the takedown and Harris counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Marcus Harris is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Harte fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Harris lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Harte at a distance.
Harris closes the distance and clinches. Harris breaks from the clinch.

Harte shoots and misses enabling Harris to counter with a crisp jab. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Harte shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Harris but Harris pushes him off and we're back to square one.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Harris drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Harris showing good wrestling skills to control the position. We've been informed that Harris has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight. Harris lands a couple of elbows. Harris passes Harte's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Harris decides to return to a standing position. Harte bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Harris throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!

Harte shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Harris counters with a two punch combo. Harris is looking to clinch. Harte with a poor takedown and Harris counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Harris cracks Harte with a good jab. Harte with a poor takedown and Harte takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Marcus Harris showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Harte sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs. Harris is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Harte rather than just go for the knockout.

Harte nods at Harris to acknowledge the strikes. This has been an exciting period of action! Harte misses with a takedown and Harris counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Harte with a lazy takedown attempt and Harris counters with a right hand to the body. Eddie Harte has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Marcus Harris is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Harris changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
And that's the end of the fight! Marcus Harris comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Harris has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today.
