Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Pedro Franco (ranked 5694 p4p, 195 weight class) and Noah Jones (ranked 3703 p4p, 158 weight class). Jones is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Barrels of Whiskey. Pedro Franco has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 13 - 0, fighting out of New York, Pedro Franco! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
13 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Noah Jones! The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Marco Blurström and Roosa Järviläinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Franco pushes Jones up against the cage in a clinch. Jones escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Franco clinches up against the cage. Jones has clasped his hands together around Franco's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. The referee asks Jones politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Jones prefers to stall for the moment though. Jones lands a decent elbow from side control. Franco has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage. Franco throws a few strikes from the bottom but Jones takes advantage and mounts! Jones working away from the top, dropping strikes. Jones has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Franco flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.
Franco tries to reverse the position but Jones maintains control. This has been an exciting period of action! Jones landing shots from mount. Jones raining down shots from the mount! Jones with good strikes from the mount here! Jones looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Franco really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Jones lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Franco hang on? Franco keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Jones postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Franco looks a forlorn figure.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Franco is wriggling around trying to escape.
That's one minute gone in the round. Franco wants to hold on but Jones pushes him away. Jones controlling from mount. Franco tries to lock up and control but Jones gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Jones cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Jones looking to secure an arm triangle but Franco defends it well. Franco is trying to stand. Jones connects with a couple of good shots from mount.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Franco keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Franco is flailing around like a fish out of water, trying to land strikes. Jones has control of Franco's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Franco regains control of the situation pretty easily.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Franco is bucking up trying to escape but Jones cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Jones has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Franco's face.
Franco tries to reverse the position but Jones maintains control. Jones lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Jones lands a heavy elbow.
Franco is rocked! Jones is landing with some decent strikes but Franco is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Oh Franco is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! A big strike lands for Jones! That's really hurt Franco and he's turned his back - Jones keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Jones jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!
