Steam has chosen Scooter as his entrance music. Sergey Steam has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Gerrit Hiemstra's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Gerrit Hiemstra!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Sergey Steam!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, William Gold and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hiemstra stuffs the takedown.
Hiemstra appears to be looking for a big counter.
Hiemstra wants to clinch up but Steam keeps it at a distance.

Hiemstra darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Steam kicks Hiemstra off and gets back to his feet.

Steam shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Hiemstra's guard.
Steam won't allow Hiemstra to get back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Steam looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hiemstra looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Steam has picked Hiemstra up and slammed him! Hiemstra can't keep hold of the triangle and Steam manages to pass to side control!
Hiemstra pushes Steam away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Steam gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Steam looks up at the clock and then as Hiemstra takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Steam smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Hiemstra tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Steam controls the position.

Steam working the head and body with strikes.
Hiemstra is looking to reverse the position.
Hiemstra is trying to escape the position but Steam is controlling the position.
It looks like Steam might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Steam's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Check out the look on Steam's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
Steam in side control, just content to control the action for now.

Hiemstra tries to escape but Steam is in control.
Steam is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Hiemstra will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

and Hiemstra counters with a one-two to the body.

Gerrit Hiemstra has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sergey Steam.
Steam keeps the fight on the outside.
Steam should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Hiemstra tries to clinch there but Steam circles away.

Steam clinches up with Hiemstra and pushes him back against the cage.
Steam can't get the takedown.

Steam pulls Hiemstra into guard.
Steam looks winded!

Hiemstra stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Steam swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Steam looking for a sweep. Not yet Steam, not yet.
Hiemstra trying to stand up but can't free himself from Steam's guard.
Steam wants to sweep but no luck.
Steam keeping moving, preventing Hiemstra from controlling successfully.
Hiemstra being controlled here momentarily.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Steam is on top in guard.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Hiemstra slaps away a takedown attempt from Steam, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Steam fails with the takedown.
It looked like Hiemstra was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Hiemstra tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Steam has closed the distance and engaged Hiemstra in a clinch.

Hiemstra lands a takedown into guard.

Steam has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Hiemstra is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.
Steam tries for a takedown but Hiemstra manages to get underhooks.
Gerrit Hiemstra has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sergey Steam.

Steam successfully pulls guard.
Hiemstra will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Let's hope that Steam has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Steam looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Steam manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Hiemstra manages to get himself to full guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

We're seeing a lot of stalling here from Steam.
Hiemstra is looking to stand back up but Steam counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Hiemstra.

Steam is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Steam. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.
Steam content just to control the position here.
Steam lands a big elbow.

Steam has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

More stalling from Steam.

Sergey Steam showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. And we move into the final round!


Steam blocks a head kick by Hiemstra.

We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Steam has eaten all the pies!
Steam slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Yet more stalling tactics from Steam.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Steam shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Hiemstra is looking to improve his position.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Steam is continuing to stall.

Hiemstra looking for submissions off his back.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Steam is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
The adventures of Steam the control monster continue. Boring.

Steam takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Steam changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Hiemstra tries to avoid it but Steam manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Hiemstra to the ground. Hiemstra escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Steam feints and as Hiemstra raises his hands in defense, Steam changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Sergey Steam is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Sergey Steam has got the better of the ground game so far.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Hiemstra escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Steam gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Gerrit Hiemstra has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Sergey Steam comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Steam winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
