The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Frank closes the distance and clinches.
Yamasato is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Frank pulls guard successfully.
Yamasato wants to control from the top but Frank keeps moving.
Frank can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Yamasato controls the pace.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Yamasato trying to control but Frank is working from the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Yamasato looking to sit in guard and control but Frank gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Frank knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Yamasato on the ground.

Yamasato is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Frank is aware though and is defending well.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Yamasato holds on and takes a little breather.
Frank connects with a couple of short punches.
Frank throwing strikes from guard but Yamasato blocks nicely.
Yamasato seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Frank throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Frank throws an elbow that misses. Yamasato uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Frank's guard. Nice move by Yamasato!

Frank will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Yamasato drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Yamasato jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Frank wants to sweep but no luck.

Yamasato is pushing down on Frank's leg trying to pass to half guard. Frank is fighting to maintain full guard but Yamasato has managed to sneak the leg through.
Frank wants to improve his position but Yamasato is controlling well.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Yamasato looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Yamasato is looking for a kimura but Frank is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Yamasato to get the leverage.

Yamasato in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Frank tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Yamasato!
