Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chief Wolf (ranked 3194 p4p, 424 weight class) and Mike Quick (ranked 4116 p4p, 495 weight class). Mike Quick will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chief Wolf! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mike Quick! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Quick connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Wolf's hands. Quick throws a hook but Wolf avoids it easily. Quick misses with a double jab.
Quick swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Quick paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Wolf shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Quick really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Wolf. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Quick is trying to stand.
Wolf has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Wolf is working for a kimura but Quick is defending it quite comfortably.
Quick pushes Wolf off looking to stand but Wolf dives back in and keeps control.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Quick wants to get back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wolf seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Quick does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Wolf is working for a kimura from half guard. He's really concentrating on the hold and it's allowed Quick to slip a leg under and get back to full guard. Quick wants to stand and escape but Wolf is having none of it. Quick is wriggling around but Wolf manages to pass to half guard.
Quick is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Wolf scores with a couple of nice shots. Quick looks like he's trying to stand up.
Quick is refusing to be controlled, as Wolf sits in half guard. Wolf is looking for a kimura here.
Wolf has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Quick defend it? Wolf steps over the head and cranks it - Quick is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Wolf!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:05 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Chief Wolf! After winning the bout, Chief Wolf thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
