0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Alireza Alireza! The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Chris Edwards and Phil Schofield.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hicks drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Hicks stands up and beckons Alireza to his feet. Hicks bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Hicks working away. Hicks stands up and beckons Alireza to his feet. Hicks shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Alireza is trying to defend but Hicks finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Alireza is trying to get back to full guard. Alireza tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Hicks wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Hicks stands up and we're back to a striking position. Alireza gets caught flat footed, as Hicks shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Alireza wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Hicks manages to pass to side control.
Hicks gets to his feet - back to striking we go! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hicks pushes Alireza up against the cage in a clinch. Hicks breaks from the clinch.
Alireza has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Hicks is landing a low percentage of strikes. Hicks closes the distance and pushes Alireza back into the cage. Alireza pulls guard effortlessly. Hicks decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Alireza, up you get! Hicks decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Hicks is trying to work for a kimura but Alireza is defending well.

Hicks decides to stand and escape the position. Hicks stuffs the takedown attempt from Alireza. Alireza gets slowly back to his feet. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Alireza gets caught napping as Hicks dives in and scores a takedown. Alireza manages to retain guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hicks drives through with a takedown into guard. Alireza is working an open guard so Hicks takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Hicks closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Hicks lands in his opponent's guard. Alireza is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Hicks dives into side control.
Hicks tries for a kimura but Alireza is defending well. Alireza tries to improve position but can't. Alireza takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hicks tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Alireza is looking to reverse the position. Hicks tries for a kimura but Alireza is defending well. Hicks decides to stand back up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Alireza fails miserably with a takedown attempt. A momentary lapse in concentration from Alireza enables Hicks to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Alireza manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Hicks gets to his feet. Alireza looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Terrance Hicks is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Hicks forces Alireza back against the cage and clinches. Hicks escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Hicks feints and as Alireza raises his hands in defense, Hicks changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Alireza looking for subs off his back but Hicks has passed one foot through into half guard.

Alireza Alireza has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Terrance Hicks is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Hicks uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Alireza.
