Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Gunter Vogler (ranked 1055 p4p, 133 weight class) and Mustapha Shiit (ranked 1372 p4p, 175 weight class). Vogler kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Durchblick - Mach Dich Locker. Gunter Vogler could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Mustapha Shiit's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Shiit fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Vogler to the ground. Shiit is now in Vogler's guard.
Vogler looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Vogler has his foot on Shiit's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Shiit works his way back into a safe position though.
Shiit tries to free his leg and advance position but Vogler is retaining full guard.

Shiit wants to control from the top but Vogler keeps moving.

Vogler escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Shiit gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
A telegraphed right hand from Shiit misses the target.
Shiit throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Vogler.
Vogler throws a jab but it's blocked by Shiit.
Shiit on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Vogler ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Shiit moves away.
Vogler paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Shiit closes this distance looking for a takedown but Vogler circles away.

Shiit shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Vogler is trying to defend but Shiit finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Shiit lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Shiit is working for a kimura but Vogler is defending it quite comfortably.

Shiit is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Vogler is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!

After winning the bout, Mustapha Shiit thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
