PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jake Jitz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chuck Liddell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jitz comes to the cage accompanied by Sleepwalking by Blindside. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Chuck Liddell was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Jake Jitz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Chuck Liddell!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Daniel Bishop and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Liddell throws a jab but it's blocked by Jitz.
Jitz ducks under a wild hook from Liddell.
Liddell misses the shot to the body.
Jitz keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Liddell takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Liddell clobbers Jitz with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
A shot to the body from Liddell misses
and Jitz counters with a body kick.
Jitz finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Liddell tries to bum rush Jitz with a series of wild strikes but Jitz uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Jitz doesn't manage to clinch there - Liddell circles away.
Liddell is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Jitz lands a body shot.

Jitz avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Jitz throws a leg kick but Liddell sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Jitz uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Liddell.
Chuck Liddell is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Jitz ducks under a wild hook from Liddell.
Jitz tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Liddell paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Jitz shoots in but Liddell avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Jitz stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

Liddell swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Jitz shoots in but no luck this time.
Jitz lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Jitz fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Liddell looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Liddell looks gassed!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Jitz throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Liddell stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
No joy there for Jitz, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Jitz tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Jitz lands a jab to the head.
Jitz tries to close the distance and clinch but Liddell swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Jitz lands a right hook to the body.
Jitz shoots in but Liddell avoids the takedown attempt easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jake Jitz. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Jitz shoots in for a double leg but Liddell sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Jitz lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Jitz lands a head shot.

Jitz lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

A jab-cross combination lands for Jitz and sends Liddell crashing to the mat! Jitz follows him down to the mat - Liddell regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet!


Liddell is rocked!

Jitz is looking for a kimura here.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Jitz wants to control but Liddell is keeping him busy.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Jitz fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Liddell manages to avoid it.

and Jitz counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Liddell fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.

Jitz lands a slapping body shot.
Jitz is looking to clinch but Liddell is avoiding it.
Liddell takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Jitz misses with a takedown attempt - Liddell sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Liddell blocks a low kick nicely.

Jitz changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Chuck Liddell is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

enabling Jitz to counter with a crisp jab.
Jitz connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Liddell's hands.
Liddell takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Liddell takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Liddell has a pretty nasty looking mouse under his right eye.
Jitz comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Chuck Liddell has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Liddell is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Jitz rather than just go for the knockout.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The cut above Chuck Liddell's eye is starting to cause him problems now.

Jitz scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Well Jitz has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
