Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between AJ Hinch (ranked 3842 p4p, 393 weight class) and Jordan Scanlan (ranked 2290 p4p, 252 weight class). Hinch comes into the arena with Cult of personality-Living Colour blaring out of the sound system. On his way into the cage it seems that AJ Hinch has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily AJ Hinch seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, AJ Hinch! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Jordan Scanlan! The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Chris Downing and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Scanlan misses with a straight right. Hinch throws a big counter combination but Scanlan scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage. Hinch misses with a hook. A little jabbing left from Scanlan on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Hinch wants to slow Scanlan down by chopping away at his legs. Scanlan smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Jab from Scanlan.
It looks like AJ Hinch has been cut. Hinch seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym. Scanlan uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Nice straight punches there by Scanlan. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Scanlan. Hinch misses with a head kick.
Scanlan uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Hinch has time to react. Hinch takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Scanlan lands a nice shot that snaps Hinch's head back.
Scanlan has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Hinch is landing a low percentage of strikes. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Hinch throws a sloppy head kick and Scanlan moves out of range easily. Hinch closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Hinch scoring with strikes to the body and head. Hinch not landing any meaningful shots this time. Hinch not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hinch wants to pass to mount but Scanlan is defending the position. Hinch looks to score some points with some ground and pound. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Scanlan can do anything to dispel that myth. Hinch missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Scanlan controlling the leg, holding on to half guard. Hinch frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Hinch goes for an armbar but Scanlan turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Scanlan. Hinch has an active guard here but Scanlan has managed to pass into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Scanlan stands up from half guard. Scanlan lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Hinch circles away quickly and effectively. Hinch throws a wild body kick that Scanlan sees coming a mile off. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Scanlan! But no joy. Scanlan lands with a cross. Scanlan blocks a head kick by Hinch.
Scanlan scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. This has been an exciting period of action! Hinch tries a head kick but it misses.
Hinch takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
AJ Hinch's cut is getting worse. Nice cross by Scanlan. Scanlan moves out of range as Hinch throws a body kick.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hinch throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Scanlan blocks a head kick by Hinch.
Hinch looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Hinch thuds a left hand into Scanlan's body. Nice uppercut lands for Scanlan. That snapped Hinch's head back.
Scanlan connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. AJ Hinch seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Scanlan feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Hinch sprawling to the canvas! Hinch rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Scanlan finish him?!
Hinch is rocked!
AJ Hinch's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it. This has been an exciting period of action! A head kick misses from Hinch. Oh Hinch is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Hinch throws a head kick but Scanlan moves out of range.
Hinch thows a left - swing and a miss! Hinch throws a hook but Scanlan avoids it easily. Hinch seems to have got his legs back now. Scanlan scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Scanlan might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. Hinch tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Scanlan closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Hinch! Scanlan dives in looking to finish! Hinch is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:53 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jordan Scanlan! Jordan Scanlan decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well. The defeated AJ Hinch had this to say: '9 out of 10 times i merk that idiot, every bitch has his day and today was his day. '.
