Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jan Sobieski (ranked 2436 p4p, 327 weight class) and Christian Magnier (ranked 3444 p4p, 421 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jan Sobieski! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Christian Magnier! The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Gregory Folan and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sobieski shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Sobieski not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Magnier is refusing to be controlled, as Sobieski sits in half guard. Magnier keeps control of the position for the meantime. Sobieski keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Sobieski thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Magnier's head. Sobieski trying to control from half guard but Magnier is working away. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sobieski controlling the action here. Magnier is pressing down on Sobieski's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sobieski wants to control from the top but Magnier keeps moving. Sobieski is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Magnier escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Sobieski gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Sobieski landing with the ground and pound. Magnier has his foot on Sobieski's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Sobieski works his way back into a safe position though. Sobieski landing some decent shots from guard. Sobieski is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Our spies down at at whitey's gym inform us that Magnier has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off? Sobieski working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Magnier's head. Sobieski has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Sobieski trying to control the position from guard on top but Magnier is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sobieski preventing the sweep. Sobieski trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Magnier wants to sweep but no luck. Sobieski wants to control from the top but Magnier keeps moving. Sobieski is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Sobieski avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Sobieski throwing strikes from guard but Magnier blocks nicely. Sobieski postures up and lands a big shot to Magnier's brow. Magnier controls Sobieski momentarily but Sobieski frees himself.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Magnier tries to land a sweep but no joy. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Magnier looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Sobieski has picked Magnier up and slammed him! Magnier can't keep hold of the triangle and Sobieski manages to pass to side control! Sobieski lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Magnier down.
Magnier tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Sobieski wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Sobieski landing a few strikes. Magnier is not in a great position here, taking some shots. Sobieski is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. Magnier is looking to reverse the position. A lull in the action here as Sobieski stalls from top position. Magnier tries to bench press Sobieski off him but Sobieski keeps the position. Magnier manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Sobieski keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Sobieski makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Sobieski. Magnier is sitting in close to Sobieski's body. Sobieski has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Magnier is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Magnier is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Sobieski.
